“I believe I'm owed an apology, Minerva.” Severus, a transformed Remus leaning affectionately against his leg, surveyed the Great Hall. Exams had gone astonishingly well, ditto the packing and chaos of the end of term, and now he and the other staff were alone in the castle. “My idea worked.”
“I must confess the right of it,” said Minerva. She ran a fingertip over Gryffindor Neptune's tiny head. “Well done, Severus. Your little collection has proved its worth.”
Severus gave the werewolf a gentle scratch between the ears. The wolf sighed. “In more ways than you can imagine.”
