Note: this is a Motherless Child fic, wherein Snape and Lupin marry and adopt a young werewolf.
“Professor Deputy Snape, sir? We is bringing decorations, sir!”
Severus nodded as Whizzy and several other elves appeared, laden with greenery, candles, and velvet ribbons. “Place the pine boughs over the fireplace and round the window frame. I'll position the ornaments myself.”
Whizzy and her little friends set to work. One of them began weaving apples, nuts, and pine into a wreath, which meant humming something that might have begun as “The Wexford Carol” but sounded rather like a street sweeper.
Severus gritted his teeth. At least Whizzy no longer lived in his house and cared for his son.
