Title: A Logical Mind, III
Challenge: Snape's Ravenclaw streak
Word Count: 100
Mr. Snape's situation was not uncommon; there was heavy familial pressure on students from older families to be sorted into whichever House their parents (and grandparents, and great-grandparents) had lived in. Sometimes there were exceptions – Sirius Black becoming a Gryffindor had been a minor scandal – but it was a pity that the children were so cowed by tradition that they ignored their natural talents and inclinations.
That was why Filius had a small library of logic puzzles, books on Muggle science, and encyclopedias for young Mr. Snape and his ilk: students who should have been Ravenclaws, and weren't.
