“We could try banishing him,” said Minerva. She twitched a lock of hair behind her ear, grateful that one of her predecessors had Peeves-proofed the Head of House's studies. “Bill Weasley might be willing to help.”
“The last time anyone tried that the castle was nearly destroyed.” Severus, tinsel still clinging to his robes, glared down at his whisky. “I can speak to the Baron.”
“That's a temporary solution.” Minerva dumped the last inch of single malt into her teacup and drank. “I know he's a poltergeist, but - “
“This has gone on long enough.”
