“You wanted to see me, Mr. Filch?” Young Mr. Snape smelled like cleaning solution – good boy, taking the time to clean his cauldrons all nice and proper instead of using a spell – and he had come when he was supposed to, not slouching in late.
“This thing you found under the Gryffindor table. Young Sirius Black said he needed the parchment for an assignment,” said Argus Filch. “He's rich enough to buy more, so I need to know why he wants this back. Can you help?”
“I'll do my best, sir,” said young Mr. Snape.
