The Slytherin dormitories were not overly warm at the best of times - why anyone would think that building under a lake would be anything but cold still escaped him - but this winter had been unusually bad. Building up the fires and warming pans in the students' beds did little to prevent the epidemic of coughing, wheezing, and catarrh of the chest.
After the fourth case of pneumonia in a week, Severus moved the students to the Great Hall while researching temperature charms. Toughening the youngsters for life was well and good, but only if they survived to adulthood.
