Severus stared at his reflection. Water from his shave dripped from his chin and cheeks, and beaded on his upper lip.
He summoned a towel and wiped his face clean, ran a comb through his hair, and pulled on his robes. They were too loose thanks to his year of living on the dole and what he could earn at the carpet factory.
His hands trembled slightly as he laced up the heavy black wool and murmured a tailoring charm. There was a knock on the door.
"Severus?"
He took a deep breath and walked to the door.
"Yes, Headmistress?"
