Severus ignored him as he summoned ingredients, one by one, and poured a precise amount of each into the small individual dishes on the table. This was not the first time they had had this discussion, and it would not be the last.
"It's as if you're trying to prove something," the other man finished. "You know you don't."
That stung. "So do you," Severus said after a moment.
