"Good riddance." Remus unconsciously rubbed his shoulder. "The nerve!"

"At least your mother hadn't arrived yet." Severus laid John in his cot and held out his arms. "Have you told her yet?"

"I couldn't not." Remus laid his cheek against his lover's. "She's giving me Papa's wedding ring. Do you mind?"

Severus closed his eyes for an instant. "Not unless you mind me using my grandmother's. It's not as if men wore such things in 1912."

"I'd be honored," said Remus, and kissed him.
