"So." The portrait of Headmaster Everard folded his arms as Severus approached his desk the next morning. "You finally came to your senses about women."

"It was a favor to a friend," said Snape. "Odd, that Hogwarts: A History doesn't mention your voyeurism."

Everard swelled in his frame. "What are you saying, young man?"

"That you are a dirty old painting who observed what was none of your business." Snape did not look up from his lesson plans. "I'd thought better of you."

The figure sputtered, then disappeared. First the boy, now the portraits. Am I to have no privacy?
