"It's been a good party," murmured the Headmistress. "Why did you stay away?"
"Why did you try to force me to attend?" Severus moved out of the lights as the band took the stage once more. His eyes were sensitive to light these days, and he tired easily. "You know my health limits excessive physical activity and social intercourse."
"You have been so well lately that I assumed you were cured."
"Not entirely." He watched the students flood the dance floor as music once more filled the Great Hall. "Perhaps next year's Yule Ball."
Minerva smiled. "I will expect you."
