"I had photographs taken," Wiggins said with a knowing look, "so you wouldn't feel compelled to come out and take a look for yourself."
Pansy hadn't told her steward, or anyone else at Moorland, that she was confined but they'd worked it out for themselves. They also did what they could to make things easy on her physically. Like having photographs taken of the storm damage so she didn't have to come tour the grounds herself. Her staff hadn't worked out precisely why she was confined, however, and did nothing to avoid upsetting her.
"Two of the greenhouses," Pansy groaned as she moved through the photographs. The greenhouses were the most profitable by square foot part of the estate at the moment. "There's no question about whether or not to repair them first."
"We're already on it. In fact, that Longbottom is a genius at it. Had some experience with the repairs of the greenhouses at Hogwarts he said," Wiggins informed her.
Pansy stopped herself from scowling. She'd hired Longbottom mostly for the fun of making him shovel dragon dung. How that walking disaster had managed an Outstanding Herbology NEWT had been beyond her, yet he was proving himself to be a valuable employee much to Pansy's dismay. She didn't want to end up appreciating the sod, yet it seemed things were going that direction.
"Longbottom has some temporary barriers up. If we order the materials, he thinks he can have the work done himself in two or three days with a couple of ready wands to help him. I say we leave it to him. I'm convinced the bloke knows what he's about and it would save us a load of Galleons hiring contractors," Wiggins pointed out.
Yes, definitely going in the appreciation direction. "And Longbottom would be far less likely to destroy half the plants doing the repairs." Pansy remembered well the destruction of the surrounding grounds when her father had the additional greenhouses installed. The stress of allowing Longbottom to repair something she owned was less than the stress of hiring people who didn't know a weed from a stem of freesia. "All right. I expect you to keep an eye on Longbottom but let him run with it," she said as Draco entered the room and took a seat beside her on the settee.
