Two and a half year ago
He couldn’t remember how long he had been here.
His wand was broken in two pieces.
He felt shattered. Probably closer to death than life at all.
Harry cursed. The Death Eaters. Voldemort. And life in general.
“Having a moment, Potter?” His thoughts were interrupted by a familiar sneer. “Mind if I’m interrupting you?”
“Malfoy.” Harry asked perplexed. “What are you doing here?” – “Saving you, I guess. But if you have other plans I’m free.” The Slytherin grinned drawing his wand out and scanning the surroundings.
The Boy Who Lived didn’t replied the usual ‘Sodd off!’, he just cuckled, but then painted for air because of his aching body. Draco’s smile vanished in an instant. The Slytherin muttered a spell Harry didn’t understood but he felt a magic barrier arise around them.
“Just a protection spell. Relax, Harry.“ His voice was soft and the Gryffindor thought he saw fear in the other one’s eyes. The blonde sat next to him.
“Well, my healing spells are probably worse than your potion talent but feel free to scream out loud if it doesn’t get better.” Draco explained then. – “You’d wish I’d scream because of you.” Harry replied not as casual as he wanted gritting his teeth in pain.
Draco lifted up the Gryffindor and tried to steady him. Harry winced.
“C’mon Potter. Don’t be such a bloody ponce. We have to get out of here!” Draco took Harry’s left arm over his own shoulder and grabbed the other boy’s waist.
“Why aren’t we apparating anyway?” Harry asked. His voice was trembling due to the cold around him and the warm body so close to his.
“We can’t. They’re close and would notice us, probably would be able to follow.” Harry opened his mouth to reply. “Yes even with the protection spell. They just can’t see us right now but if they’d concentrate they will feel us. And yes it’s your bloddy fault! All of this.” – “You’re welcome, Draco.” Both smiled.
The following silence wasn’t uncomfortable. Both of them were deep in thoughts.
Harry started panting as Draco walked faster.
“Malfoy, could we…” His legs were shaking and he nearly fell down.
“Potter, we can’t…” – “Please, Draco…” The Gryffindor interrupted him sharply.
The blonde leaned him against a tree. “Alright.” He mumbled. Harry’s heavy beathing was everything he heard for long lost minutes.
“Do you remember the first time we spent here?” Draco asked then. – “What? You mean in first year with Ron, Hermione and Hagrid.” – “And Fang.” The Slytherin added grinning. “We managed to get detention in first year all because of you. Gryffindors probably have to be so thick but sending me with you on mission wasn’t the best decision of McGonnagall.” He shaked his head.
“The best moment was you running away screaming like a girl”, Harry chuckled. – “First, I didn’t screamed like a girl. Second, not everybody has to be such a stupid hero like you are. See where it led you…” – “Stuck in the Forbidden Forest with you.” Harry finished.
“Surrounded by Death Eaters.” Draco added. – “Yeah, right. Thanks, Draco. I nearly forgot this.” Harry sneered.
”Talking to you is always so full of positive…” – “Shut up, Malfoy.” The younger wizard hissed suddenly. – “What’s wrong with you, Potter?” Draco asked angrily. – “I said, shut up!” Harry shushed keeping his mouth shut with one of his hands. The Slytherin’s eyes widened as the other boy’s body leaned heavy against him. “Do you hear this?” Harry whispered. His lips were close to Draco’s ear.
Then Draco recognized the footsteps. Human footsteps and the rustling leaves were the only noises around them for some unbearable minutes.
“Give me your wand.” Harry commanded in a hushed voice and the blonde gave him a questioning look. The Gryffindor leaned closer. Draco nearly fell backwards but pulled his wand out. The Boy Who Lived cast a spell and muttered then. “Hold on tight!” The Slytherin obied without thinking and their Appartion crack was drowned by darkness.
They fell stumbling to the floor of Grimmauld Place. Their legs were tangled and Harry’s lips were close to Draco’s.
“Thanks for saving me, Draco.”
