Challenge #2
Word count: 200
I tried to use all the words, but a few of those words (goth, string, candle) were stubborn and just wouldn't fit in :)
This is his addiction. He won't stray from this room, won't leave the small house where they hide. The rain beats against the window, making a hollow drumming sound.
He hasn't looked in the mirror for a long time. He knows he's thin because they don't eat. Neither of them are eager to waste time standing in front of that frying pan, cooking eggs and making tea and pretending. There's not time for that, just like there's not time for heroes and scars and potions and the rest of everything that had been their lives.
So instead they sit on the wooden floor of the empty apartment, watching the leaves press against the glass of the windowpane, while the trickling water makes endless disappearing patterns.
It was a decision both made and neither spoke. To stop. Stop with the politics and stop with the heroism and stop with the war.
Harry's touch on his hand is tentative, paper-fragile, like a butterfly, but Draco won't break him.
He knows that the sickness of the whole fucked up world waits outside. At night he dreams of the death they've already seen, but during the day there's only time for this silence.
