Summary: The first Christmas after Voldemort's defeat. Oh, the fluff...
Draco looked around at his guests with a small smile on his face. It was the first Christmas they’d been able to celebrate together since the war, and the turnout had been great; most everyone got along with everyone else, and even a few professors had shown. Now, if only his best friend would hurry up with the drinks…
“You win.” Harry commented into Draco’s ear over the loud chatter of the people around them. He handed him his cup. “They didn’t even make it out of the kitchen before trying to eat each others’ tonsils. ‘Getting more punch’ my arse.”
Draco laughed, his punch shooting out of his mouth and almost into Dumbledore’s lap. The Headmaster smiled and shook his head.
“Severus and Remus, I assume?”
“Yeah…” the boys grinned at each other.
“Ah, so it’s been you two setting them up the last few weeks.”
“It worked, didn’t it?” Draco smirked.
“Yes, yes. Good for them.” Dumbledore stood and smoothed out his robes. “For now, I’ve got to go mingle with more of your guests, Draco. Thank you for inviting me.”
“Of course, Professor.”
“I’ll leave you two to it.” He winked and walked off.
“What was that about?” Harry asked.
“Beats me, crazy old man...”
Harry handed Draco his own drink as well and slid over the back of the couch, legs sticking in the air while his body rested on the seat. Draco sighed and put both cups on the table before him then patted his lap.
“Come here. It will be more comfortable.” He said. Harry gave him a puzzled look but did as the blond said. He curled up with his head in Draco’s lap and a smile on his face.
“Oh, don’t let me forget to give you your present.” He mumbled suddenly.
“Get it now!” Draco’s demanded, his voice a little excited but more surprised. Harry had never gotten him a Christmas present before, for obvious reasons.
“I’m comfortable now!”
“Jut Accio it, you pathetic excuse for a wizard.” Draco teased. “If you get it, I’ll let you have yours…”
Harry smiled and sat up. “Ok, then. Accio Draco’s present.”
A square box landed in his hands, wrapped in green with a large gold bow on top. Draco accioed Harry’s gift and handed it over.
“You open yours first.”
“Why?”
“Just do it, Harry.” Draco rolled his eyes. Harry grinned back and tore off the wrapping paper. Inside of it was a little box that held a silver ring with the words mind, body, spirit, love and peace on the outside in gold.
“It’s—”
“Charmed. When you put it on you’re safe from the basic Dark Spells. The more advanced ones won’t be stopped, and not the Unforgivables obviously, but it’s—”
“Perfect.” Harry smiled, slipping it onto his finger. “Thank you. Now open yours.”
“Alright.” Draco sighed, trying to pretend he wasn’t as excited as he quite obviously was as he carefully opened his package. He took out what was inside and gaped open mouthed.
“I—er, well, I know you said you didn’t have one when you grew up because—”
“Malfoys don’t play with things so ordinary and simple as stuffed animals.” Draco finished. He ran his fingers through the stuffed bear’s golden fuzz before turning to Harry with a smile. “This is—”
“Nothing really, I just thought you should have one.” Harry shrugged, suddenly embarrassed. Then, just as suddenly, Draco had his arms around him and Harry had a lap full of Slytherin. He happily hugged back, pressing his face into the crook of Draco’s neck.
“That was sweet, and thoughtful, and cute, and so obviously from you.” Draco said, pulling back. “And it was a bad idea because now I want to kiss you even more than I usually do, and if you don’t push me off your lap in the next half a second, I’m going to.”
Harry gaped at him, unsure if he heard correctly. “You—you want to kiss me?”
“Very, very much. And your time is up.”
With that, he pressed his lips to Harry’s gently, prepared for rejection. Instead, Harry pulled him closer and opened his mouth to greedily suck at Draco’s bottom lip until the blond licked back so they could kiss deeply. The kiss went on forever, perfect, until—
“Well, it’s about time!”
They pulled apart guiltily and looked over to where Remus was grinning at them with his arm around Severus’ waist.
“You have no room to talk.” Draco sniffed. He stood and, taking the bear in one hand and Harry’s wrist in the other, walked off.
“Draco, where are we going?”
Draco looked over his shoulder at Harry “I’ve waited months for you. Where do you think we’re going?”
Harry grinned. “The nearest lockable room?”
“Yes.”
