Kirley had been sitting in his tiny, one-room flat with his guitar in his lap, passing the time in his favorite way. Well, second favorite. Playing his music, messing around with chords and sounds and melodies while trying to find that perfect feel for a new song, had recently taken a very narrow second place to messing around with Anna. Although when he could have both at the same time, well, that was when life felt like it couldn't get any better.
So when someone knocked on the door and he found it was his aforementioned girlfriend, he smiled broadly and kissed her back. "Much better now that you're here," he told her, drawing her into the flat. "Hey, come here, I wan to show you what I've been working on."
He pulled her by the hand over to his bed, which also served as couch, closet, table, and really anything else that was needed. He had a rather pathetic looking table-top Christmas tree on his night stand that was so covered in tiny decorations that the tree was invisible, and bits of parchment with musical notations were strew across the bed, along with his dirty cloths and (disturbingly) a plate that looked like it had been there a while.
Kirley cleared a space for her by shoving the entire mess off to the side and patting the newly-cleared covers before he took up his guitar and his previous position. "Listen to this; tell me what you think, okay?"
