Asylum Information

Exactly what it says on the tin. For those not in the know, Slytherin Rising is my attempt to give Slytherin House a makeover. Snape-fans and Slytherins will love it, as will anyone who would like to see Slytherins as people for a change and not convenient bad guys.

This community is for readers of the series to get together, chat, exchange opinions, post essays and opinions, fics and fanart, icons, polls and anything else that takes their fancy. Anyone may join, although you are warned as of now that some material posted may not be suitable for minors.

This is the mirror version of the original LJ comm. As the climate over there has ceased to be fan friendly, I've set up a back-up here.

Rules:

1. No flaming, spam, abusing other members or trolling. If you cannot be courteous to other users, leave and come back when you've learnt how.

2. ALL long posts must be LJ cut. If you don't know how to do this, go to the LJ FAQ and find out.

3. All artwork must be LJ cut, as must any fic over drabble length (100 words).

4. All fics posted must have the following header info:

5. Fics of any rating are permitted, with the proviso that we do not take chan (defined as sexual activity involving anyone under 16), or gods help us, Mpreg. (Unless it's Ron or Sirius getting knocked up, because that'd be funny.) Also, ALL fics must be rated appropriately, and NC17 fics must be LJ cut in their entirety with clear warnings.

6. All fics must be checked for spelling, grammar and punctuation. You should also get them beta'ed and if you don't live in the UK, Britpicked. By someone other than your best mate. They must also be set in the SR universe. While you may post links to fics not set in the SR universe, this community will not host them.

7. All fanart must have the following header info:

8. Fanart must be set in the SR universe, or feature someone, canon or OC, who figures prominently in SR. Finished works only please. All work must be rated. NC17 work should be clearly labelled as such. No NC17 work involving someone under 16, particularly if it's one of the Four.

9. Work submitted, be it fic or artwork, can be SR-AU, so if you want to explore further a pairing not found in SR, or which doesn't go anywhere in SR, or change something in the storyline, go for it! Should warn you that LJ isn't really good for chaptered fics, so you might want to put those on Skyehawke or FFN and just link to them here.

10. Icons - yes please! All we ask that if you are posting more than three, you LJ cut the rest. Also, no NC17 icons.

11. Spoilers - you should really read the whole of SR before joining, as there will be spoilers all over the place. Having said that, if your post contains spoilers, especially for recently posted material, you should LJ cut the spoilers. Not everyone wants them.

12. Topic rules - posts should ideally centre around SR, but we will also tolerate posts regarding canon characters prominent in SR, Slytherin House and its denizens in general, and any of the mythical and philosophical background. Also any HP or fandom stuff that might impact SR, such as info from JKR, new movies and new books, obviously. No memes or quizzes unless they directly concern SR or Slytherin House, unless you are the creator. No deeply personal stuff - you have your own LJs for that!
