*TAKES NEW COMM'S VIRGINITY*
Who: Vincent and Lucrecia
What: SCIENCE!!!
When: Earlier today!
Where: SCIENCE LAB OF DOOM AND TERROR or not really, more like Lu's own, new shiny lab.
Warnings: Pfft no.
This place still took some getting used to. Vincent had barely been away from the house the first few days at Sky Garden, aside from getting to classes. He was sure that in time he should look around the main city below in Suncoast to see what else was there. He did want to find things to do with Lucrecia, after all. But at the moment... at the moment, he was headed to the lab that Lucrecia had claimed at the school's science building. As he wandered through the campus at St. Elle's, he kept an eye out for it, eventually coming across it without any incident.
Inside, Vincent headed along to the room Lucrecia had told him. There was no sound of maniacal laughter... so maybe Hojo had taken a lab elsewhere, far away. He could only hope. Vincent knew better than to think he'd ever be so lucky. Although with what Lucrecia had discovered, he had to wonder... perhaps his luck was in for a change. After some more wandering around, he located the right lab, knocking at the door before opening it.
"...Lucrecia?"
The final preparations for this were finally coming to a close. The formula had been tested numerous times, and finally... finally, there was nothing wrong with it. All of the bugs had been fixed and everything was perfect, so to speak. Lucrecia was quite pleased with herself, knowing that things would be all right again. He would be cured! She would have to rip the claw off of him (metaphorically speaking, of course!) once it had settled in, to see if this would have fixed his arm as well from the mutation it suffered, most likely from the introduction of new DNA into his system. Once it was over... well, she'd see soon!
Once things were in place, all it took was waiting for Vincent. Lucrecia was getting antsy, and pacing around the room, tidying things up that didn't need it, and so on and so forth. It wasn't until she heard the knock and the door open that she stood at attention. Hearing Vincent's voice made her smile brightly, and the minute the door opened and he looked inside, she was already running over to him to jump up and hug him tightly.
...no, Lucrecia, excited? Of course not! "You're finally here, my Valentine!" She said while snuggling into him. "Are you ready?"
Vincent was pleased as always by her warm greeting. Even though they had been married for nearly two years, it never ceased to brighten his usually gloomy day to see Lucrecia smiling at him. Especially now, given what he was here for. He'd come to terms with it, realizing that it must be some sign that his punishment was finally at an end. If it would work... Well. They would have to wait and see for certain. Only time would tell for that.
A faint almost-smile crossed his lips and he held her against him. "...Yes. I'm prepared as long as you are. Do you have everything you need here?"
"Of course I do. I like this lab a lot. It's bigger than the one I had at our old school. It's very nice. I have everything that we need though! I'm ready whenever you are, Vincent." With that, she kissed his cheek and let go of him to get her feet back on to the ground, then went over to where she had everything. It was an easy procedure; just an injection of the formula, and that was that. It should only take a few minutes for it to work, and then...
Well, she would find out! Holding up the syringe (with a slightly noticeable discomfort, considering things from before), she smiled as best she could for her husband. "Are you ready? If I could have made it a different way, well... well anyway! I'm ready, so..." ...more like 'ready to not have to hold a syringe.'
Vincent also understood well her feelings about that syringe. It really did amaze him how she was able to continue doing her field of work after that ordeal... but he knew that if anyone was strong enough, it was her. He respected her greatly for that.
"Of course... I understand, Lucrecia." He had followed her to the area, and now took a seat nearby. As for his own feelings on scientific procedures... Well. That was likely obvious to anyone who knew his story. But he had managed to make himself go through with it for Lucrecia before, back during that one ill-fated attempt... So he could do so this time. Her enthusiasm and confidence did help a great deal in that regard, too. This time it had to work. He could only hope...
"I'm ready. Is there... anything I should be aware of? Any side effects?"
"None that I've observed in the development, no. Maybe a little discomfort from the needle..." Lucrecia gave it a weary glance, and looked back to Vincent. He was something better to focus on anyway. "But other than that, none. Well then, if you're ready, then... let's get this over with. I want to see you happier than you have been in some time." Not including the times they were together, of course!
But now, the hard part. Once it was done and over with... well, the results would be telling. Hopefully Vincent wasn't armed this time, just in case. Not that he couldn't do any damage by himself, but the gun would be something she didn't want to revisit. "It should only take a few minutes for it to work. Tell me everything that goes on afterward, all right?"
And with that, sleeves were rolled up, veins were found, and the injection to decide the fate of the two monsters that were hated the most was given. Now all that was left was... to wait. Waiting would be the hard part. Lucrecia stepped away for just a moment to dispose of the syringe, which was a relief on her part, before quickly returning to Vincent's side.
As always when it came to needles, as soon as Vincent had his sleeve rolled up, he closed his eyes and looked away. ...Right, so he was only... somewhat better at dealing with them. Some things really did remain with a person for a long time. He only winced slightly at the jabbing sensation, and within a matter of seconds, it was done. Just like that. Years of torment and nightmares, perhaps reversed forever...
Still with his eyes closed, Vincent waited. Nothing seemed any different at first. Very gradually, he became aware of an odd feeling in his mind, as if a weight had been lifted. He could no longer hear or feel the disturbances from Chaos, whose harassment had become a constant presence over the past few months. Finally. He sighed with relief. Opening his eyes, he looked at Lucrecia. "It's..." This feeling was alien to him, as if he were finally himself for the first time in ages. "It's silent." A look of amazement crossed his face as he marveled over how this felt.
Lucrecia waited patiently while watching Vincent for any strange changes she didn't fully expect. So far, so good. As long as nothing strange happened in the next few moments, but... no, nothing. So, just to make it official, while she waited she made sure that everything seemed normal with Vincent:temperature , heart rate, anything that may change during this. Things were fairly normal, and that was a relief. When Vincent finally spoke, she nearly jumped up and down while cheering. This was fantastic news! As it was, she was smiling brightly, looking as if she needed to do something in order to convey just how happy she was at the moment. "This... this is just the reaction I was hoping for! No bad side effects, no Chaos coming out to harm me, just... just you being rid of those that have hurt you and made you do bad things!"
...ok, so now was the time for her to jump up and down in glee. In fact, Lucrecia did just that, adding a twirl and a raise of her arms in victory with a shout.
Oh, but she had nearly forgotten! Lucrecia paused for a moment in realization, and immediately went for the claw to take it off as quickly as she could. She was beginning to be a Claw Master, taking it off of Vincent quicker and quicker each time she did so.
Throughout all of her various tests and examinations on him, Vincent was patient. He sat perfectly still and waited to see her final verdict. When he didn't see any frowns or looks of disappointment, he felt relieved once again. That pleasant light feeling still hadn't gone away. He'd literally forgotten what it felt like, not to be plagued by Chaos... or Hellmasker, the other uncontrollable monster. He couldn't quite access the controllable ones yet, but that was normal. He was pretty sure they were still there... sometimes he did need to tap into more strong negative emotion to set them free.
"I think... the protomateria is able to function better now, as well. It's finally keeping everything silent, as it should be..." Since the monsters shouldn't be stirring constantly, it was a relief to know that it was working. Vincent glanced down now, looking at where Lucrecia had removed the claw His arm had morphed to be human once again. Vincent gasped. He'd never have imagined this possible...
"I'm glad. I think things will be better, and--" Lucrecia fell silent when the claw came off. The last time she had seen this was only a temporary measure, when they had been at their old school, and it was because of the power of the invading force. But... but this was... "Vincent, your arm..." All she could do was stare. This was unexpected, but a very good development.
After a moment of staring, Lucrecia took Vincent's arm, looking it over for any sign of the mutation being there, and finding none. "I... I wasn't even... it's..." Well, it certainly had a good effect! Lucrecia couldn't even think of anything to say about it! Instead, she pressed her cheek into his now-not-mutated hand and smiled. "It's gone. You don't have to hide your arm any longer."
"You didn't expect that the mutation there would also vanish...?" Vincent held up his arm and stared at it, still in shock himself over that development. He hadn't thought any of this possible before. Yet here he was, with the afflictions that had plagued him... Gone. Cured. No more. It was almost too good to be true. So much so that as he waited there, he almost expected something to go wrong...
Yet nothing happened. He tentatively allowed himself one of the rare smiles reserved only for Lucrecia. "...You're right. I'm... as I was before..." Well. Aside from the monsters he'd kept, of course, but they had come to be actually more of a benefit than a burden.
"I wanted to see if my idea that it might was correct, but..." It was an idea that it might, but she hadn't expected it to actually work! Theoretically since the DNA for the monsters were gone, Lucrecia had suspected that it was from Chaos that did this, and perhaps she was right. But knowing that the mutation was gone...
"Yes, exactly. We should tell papa as soon as possible. I'm sure he'd be surprised, knowing that we achieved what I had set out for. Now all I need to do is find a way to make myself normal too, and then... and then, we'll be normal." It sounded so good when it was vocalized, and it was something they had desperately longed for, something that was now getting closer to reality. Lucrecia smiled brightly at Vincent, ready to kiss him, but... instead, she gasped.
"Vincent! Your eyes! They're..." How long had it been since she had seen them blue? When they were younger, she was sure of that. That had always been one of the things she had loved about him when he was still an awkward Turk around her was the colour of his eyes, and now... now they were back the way they should be.
"They reverted as well?" This was... another unexpected surprise. But another good one, as far as Vincent was concerned. He hadn't seen them like that in years. Nor had he ever expected to see himself like that again. Not since that time his powers had vanished entirely. This feeling right now was very similar to that in ways... but with any luck, this time it would have a lasting effect. To think he had Hojo of all people to thank in part... or at least, an alternate of him. He still gave Lucrecia more of the credit, for what she went through obtaining the formula and working on it.
"It's as if a great burden has been lifted… as if I truly have a chance to relive the past... and to atone completely." Since he could attempt to do things right this time, without any costly mistakes. He was determined. In fact, this gave him an idea... but it was something to do later, to surprise Lucrecia. For now, he looked at her again. "Thank you, Lucrecia..."
"They did! They're back to being that pretty blue colour they were before. I missed that. I haven't seen them like this for such a long time." Lucrecia was content with just staring at them, before she finally did cave and kiss him. This was incredible! This was like finally living an impossible dream, one that she knew would have to happen eventually, but was always so far out of reach. Having it happening here and now... well, it certainly made her happy!
Smiling at his words of thanks, she nodded. "Of course. You know this is what I've been working at, and I would have done anything to achieve it for you. For us. And now, I won't have to do anything like I did before, I've got part of what I needed for the future, and now... everything has paid off, even all of the bad things that had to happen. You're just like before, only... minus the suit." That was all that was missing, but really, he was just fine the way he was now, as well. "I'm glad I could help you, Vincent."
Vincent added a mental note to have the suit as part of his plan. It was strange to think how far he'd come in the past few years. There was once a time when he'd have never imagined this to even be possible. Yet here they were, almost coming full circle in a sense. He nodded at her words. "It was worth all of the effort it took you. It was also... a much easier process than I thought it would be. I... can also promise you that you will be rewarded further, soon enough." He left that statement intentionally vague.
It would still take some adjusting to be used to being like this, but probably not as long as it did getting accustomed to the monsters. Now, with only the sane ones in there- somewhere- he assumed he would have an easier time controlling them. Although it might be harder to access them... he would have to try the next time he went for a training session.
Lucrecia gave him a questioning look at his mention that she would be rewarded. What did he mean by that one? She decided to refrain from asking, for now. It was likely she'd find out soon enough, right? Right. "Well, either way I'm glad you're happier now. That's what I was going for, after all. Mm, but let's go back to our home for now, all right? I'm sure we can find other ways to celebrate, hm? Besides the reward you've already promised, I mean! I've already got part of your ensemble off, might as well get the rest of it off!"
...yes, she was totally insinuating what it sounded like, and Lucrecia? Was already going for his cape to get that off too.
Vincent gave Lucrecia a startled look when she was trying to get the cape off... The claw was a different matter entirely, but he didn't want to walk back in the colder weather only partially clothed, in this outfit. There would, however, be time to strip off clothing once they returned. He put his now human left hand over hers to stop her from taking that off completely. "When we get home," he said, and then leaned toward her to kiss her. There would be plenty more where that had come from, of course.
"...And speaking of that, I'm also ready to return, to... celebrate," Any other work that had to be done could wait. They truly had a reason to be happy about this, about something that had gone right for them. Right after marriage, it was one of the best things that had ever happened to Vincent.
"Then we'd better get home as quickly as possible, or else I'm taking the cape off on our way there!" Oh, of course she meant that, and Lucrecia was sure Vincent knew it as well. Still, it was good incentive to get home as quick as possible! For her, perhaps. But anything for means of celebration was good, and perhaps she could talk Vincent into champagne or some other equally good thing to go along with their other activities. "Hm, perhaps we could get dinner, or maybe even just things to be at home with for dinner afterwards?" Either way, tonight? Was going to be a really good night.
This sounded like a good idea to Vincent, and he nodded. The sooner they had left the lab for more relaxed and comfortable surroundings, the better. This place was hardly the most romantic environment. "We can look for a place along the way." Although he hadn't gotten a good feel for their new area yet, Vincent had seen plenty of shops and restaurants around. They should be able to locate something suitable for the occasion. He was in full agreement with her, that tonight... would be an enjoyable one. She deserved it. After everything they had experienced, perhaps they both did. Although he had always been more reluctant to see such a thing as possible, today had shown him that it could be so.
"Thank you again, Lucrecia... I owe you everything." With that, he reached toward her, so that he could take her hand in his.
"I like the sound of that. Then, shall we be on our way, Vincent Valentine?" It wasn't as if his name had changed, but now... now, he truly was Vincent Valentine once more, in a way. Knowing that things had finally started to go his way... well, that made her incredibly happy to know. Things would look up from here on out. If she could help Vincent, then it wasn't too big of a stretch to say she could help herself.
Placing her hand in his, Lucrecia shook her head. "No, you don't owe me anything and you know it. But, you're welcome all the same. I would have done this for you even if we weren't married." Even if things had been different, this had been her goal for some time: using science to help people in need, and her husband was one of those people. And now, the very thing she had set out to do for him was complete. Everything was going better, and that was all that mattered. "Let's go, then!" And with that, she tugged at him, already making her way toward the exit.
Vincent couldn't complain about being pulled along. He never could, when the one leading him so enthusiastically was Lucrecia. "Very well. But my word still stands... as it always will." Since in his mind, he did owe her everything, and that would never change. He would continue to look out for her. To devote himself to protecting her, and to uphold his vows to her... It was the least he could do. As they continued along, Vincent squeezed her hand and wondered what this new beginning would bring for them. He supposed they would find out, all in good time.
