Greg was under no illusions. When he said he would bring her dinner, he meant it. Never mind that he hadn't made it himself; he had done more than usual by supervising. And he knew he should be fretting about the fare; he thought she deserved lobster and grass fed beef or whatever it was that they served at those trendy restaurants. Instead, he had picked some of his favorites, so that it was a more personal presentation.
He ate soup, grilled vegetables, fantastic salads and sometimes, although rarely, bread or desserts. His favorite soup was this rich chicken vegetable and that was what he brought. He had grilled zucchini, carrots and asparagus and a spinach salad, that his elf added a hot bacon dressing to that was just yum by his view. He had thought long and hard and had been surprised at the old's elf suggestion of a Linzor torte; it had been his favorite as a kid and he agreed. So, the two of them were loaded with a couple of boxes, and stepped through the floo. There were even some corn muffins, a real splurge, in Greg's book and he hoped Pansy liked it all.
He had a ton to tell her that boiled down to three little words and he wondered if he could be brave enough to tell her, tell her so that she'd really hear him. About that, Greg fretted plenty.
"Okay, food is here. We are going to set it up in the kitchen," he said to her entry way, "You are ready, right?"
He called out, trying to shake that tone of insecurity out of his voice.
