WHO: Eleanor & Neville WHAT: Eleanor attacks initiates a snowball fight WHEN: After curfew, January 12, 2007 WHERE: Outside the greenhouses at Hogwarts RATING: Do snowball fights really need warnings? STATUS: Threaded, Incomplete
Thirteen... fourteen... fifteen. Eleanor counted the snowballs at her feet, deciding that she had enough for her skirmish. She peeked out from behind a tree and squinted at greenhouse two. Or was it greenhouse three? Eleanor couldn't remember, and it honestly didn't matter at this point. What did matter, however, was that she spotted the recipient of her attack, absorbed with his work within the greenhouse. It had to be Neville; Eleanor knew of no other person who would be in the greenhouses this late.
Living under the same roof as her boyfriend--yes, her boyfriend--had its advantages. Eleanor didn't have to be on a date just to see Neville, and since they were both busy with the start of the new term, she liked to take advantage of the few odd moments she could spend with him. After she had herded students to their common rooms, Eleanor searched castle for Neville, but came up empty-handed when she checked his office, the staff room, the Great Hall, and other spaces where she commonly found him. At last, her search brought her to the greenhouses.
Bending down to scoop up two of the snowballs, Eleanor grinned as she eyed the greenhouse. She could easily imagine Neville losing track of the time as he toiled away, preparing a lesson, maybe working on his own projects. It was late, though, and she decided to remind Neville of the time and coax him out. She threw the first of the snowballs, and it hit against the side of the greenhouse, several feet away from where she could see Neville's shape inside. She imagined it was enough to startle him, so she threw the second snowball at the same spot and retreated behind her tree, waiting for Neville to emerge.
