Welcome to... As it had been in years previous, the Montrose Pitch had been completely transformed for the evening. When guests arrived, they were beckoned by a sweet-sounding voice to cross the Troll Bridge... Halfway across, however, they would be stopped by the sudden appearance one of three trolls... ...who would ask that all guests leave a donation for Hestia's Hearth before proceeding further. Once inside the Pitch proper, it would appear that guests had stepped into the middle of a warm, springtime fairytale land with all the typical trimmings... The surrounds, though beautiful, were all charmed for the guests' safety- you could only go about twenty-five feet into the woods before reaching the invisible barrier that stopped you. The stream and pond were also charmed against anyone entering them (accidentally or otherwise). All the buildings, however, were safe to enter- some had costumed characters, while others just appeared to be places from abandoned fairy tales. At the far end of the Pitch was a large castle... This was also open for guests, who could visit the main ballroom area directly as they entered, or several of the tower rooms. (The rest was all just for show, it's not a real castle, sorry.) Throughout the night there was music for dancing, food, various games to play, and costumed characters from various fairy tales who would entertain the guests. At midnight, there were, of course, fireworks! |
