Had Garan ever heard of a rhetorical question? Okay, maybe Nate's tone didn't hint that's what he was saying, but still. Of course Nate talked, he knew that. It was also true that he talked the most when he was pissed off or Garan, you know, made him talk. Seriously though, this wasn't an argument that Nate wanted to get into right now, so while he did think about it for awhile, he didn't really voice those opinions.
Nate listened to what Garan was thinking, but it didn't seem to be anything of consequence. At least, it wasn't anything he couldn't figure out without looking back at Garan's actions. Well, Nate would have never been able to predict that Garan was thinking about whether or not he needed a nose, but that was besides the point. "I was thinking that..." Oh, crap. What was he thinking about? "I really should have changed my sheets before you came. Not that they're that dirty, just... yeah. That's all."
Nate brought his lips to the joint Garan held out for him and inhaled. He looked back at Garan and gave him a wink. It was an action that he couldn't explain, and as soon as he had done it he burst out laughing.
