Garan shut his eyes. He supposed it was better to know that he was out there by himself with his feelings. All by himself. It didn't mean he'd wanted to hear it, though. It took himself a moment to keep himself together, and when he was sure he could, he opened his eyes and nodded. "Okay," he answered. There wasn't much else to say, was there?
"Please don't lie to me," Garan said, still barely holding himself together. His voice sounded completely emotionless at this point, as if he'd detached himself from them. "It feels much worse when you do." He was still balled up neatly on the bed, which was a little bit of security in an otherwise uncomfortable situation.
