Garan rubbed his forehead. He didn't understand Nate at all. "So, you told me not to be sorry, but now you're mad that I'm not?" he asked, sounding defeated. And what about the name Garan called Nate so often, Sitrach? Nate never complained about that! Garan sighed. There was no consistency with Nate, and that caused much of the problem. Or problems, really.
Where was he going? Garan started to stop Nate, to call him out on walking away, but he figured it was just as well. Really, Garan would rather be sad by himself than with Nate. Garan pulled his knees to his chest and swallowed hard, watching Nate gather his things wordlessly.
