Taken a bit by surprise at the sudden movement, he didn't have time to fight back again as Derek pinned him down to the ground. As much as he tried to squirm out of his grasp, Stiles soon gave up, watching as fangs came toward his neck and was actually anticipating the worst; not expecting just the harmless nip.
Getting to his feet, the beta looked down as he listened to the lecture, almost ashamed that he did let his guard down. He was a new wolf, though - what did Derek expect? This is why he was in training, to learn and be the best wolf that he could be. Waiting until Derek's rant was over, he finally spoke up. "I know," Stiles started quietly, still keeping his head lowered for a few more moments before looking up. "I know I shouldn't of. And I wouldn't have let my guard down," he continued. "But seriously, Derek? I'm freaking brand new at this. I can't be as good as you are right away."
