There was something River found incredibly sweet about the Doctor trying to explain her. Defend her? The Doctor's arm around her shoulders certainly felt protective. It was familiar and it was comforting, and she missed it when it was gone.
"Not as good at sitting still this time around, are you?" she asked lightly, following the Doctor to her feet.
She smirked, reaching for her wife's hand to pull her closer again. "More touching, though. Looking forward to exploring that later."
River made a point to look at the companions, "I know you're curious, and I won't let her avoid your questions forever."
But for now, "Come on, Sweetie."
The questions started again as soon as they made it into the TARDIS. Yaz managed to get hers in first, a little hesitant, almost like she wasn't sure she wanted to ask, "How'd you two meet?"
