"It wasn't my fault the first time! I fell out. Long story, actually. Landed straight through a train after my last regeneration. That's where I met Graham! You'll love Graham. And Ryan and Yaz!"
Huh. She made a point, though the Doctor could think of a few other ways. Probably not the best time.
"Wha-?" Turning around again, the Doctor caught sight of the TARDIS and beamed. "There it is! See? I told you so. C'mon. Oh-" It was fading again. Oh no. Oh no, oh no, oh no.
Just like last time. Except that this wasn't last time. What was last time? Alien planet. Dimensional shifts. Right. Right!
She looked down to the other device, pushing a few buttons to change the readings then nodding. "Okay. Okay, this isn't so bad. Well, it's bad, but we can do this if we time it right. I should probably go first, though." She looked at the TARDIS.
"Wait here. I promise I'll make it safe. Maybe. I hope."
She took a big breath and timed it just right. And then, she rushed for it, leaping through the doors JUST as it became completely materialized. Of course, it started to dematerialize again. Once. Twice. And then, it faded back and stayed that way.
The Doctor swung the door open, smiling and ushering her wife in. "Okay, all good. Or it will be once we get off this planet. C'mon!"
She hurried back to the console to enter something, smiling at River, clearly proud of the new....everything then flipping a lever and letting the ship do the rest as it left the doomed planet behind.
