It was in moments like this River was reminded how she'd so easily fallen in love with her, and that, at heart, no matter what face she was wearing, the Doctor was always her Doctor.
"Again?" she asked sharply. She would have given her a lecture about it, but she really didn't think they had the time. Later, perhaps, once they'd found the Old Girl again.
As for her vortex manipulator, "Yes, cheap and nasty, you've always said, but do you know a better way to track a time traveller?" She smiled brightly. "And I did find you, didn't I?"
The flash of blue caught River's attention, and she watched as the ship faded in and out of existence. She reached blindly for the Doctor's arm, not wanting to take her eyes off of it for fear it might disappear completely again. "Doctor, what's wrong with her?"
River had always had something of a special connection to the timeship, and it troubled her that she seemed to be in some manner of distress and she didn't know why.
