"How is it you always manage to find trouble?" She sounded faintly exasperated, an effect that was only enhanced by her slight breathlessness. But truthfully, she didn't look like she minded all that much, not the trouble or the running or even the Doctor's apparent lack of answers. She'd say this was exactly what she needed.
River noticed the change in her wife's voice immediately. "Sweetie?" she tried cautiously, already suspecting the problem. "Don't tell me you've lost the TARDIS."
Her next question absolutely confirmed it. Sighing, River held up her arm, showing her the vortex manipulator strapped to her wrist. "It isn't a TARDIS. And it's out of charge." She sounded both irritated and apologetic. "I've been looking for you awhile, you know."
