Another fanfic100 drabble. Prompt: 076: Who? Word Count: 250 Rating: G, unless you're offended by mentions of Wendy the Werewolf Stalker, or people calling Bart Kid Flash. Prompt Table
Ever since moving to Manchester, Bart had liked working in Keystone less and less. For one, Flash always treated him like he was an annoying distraction, no matter how much Bart wanted to help. But what really annoyed Bart was that if anyone even noticed he was there (which they usually didn't), they would insist on calling him Kid Flash. Bart wasn't Kid Flash, Wally used to be Kid Flash, but he was Flash now, ever since Grampa Barry had died. And Bart didn't even wear any yellow!
But of course no one would understand why he didn't want to be called Kid Flash. He'd tried complaining to Wally, and all he got was a lecture about he should be honoured that people were mistaking them for him. When he told Max about it, Max just said maybe it was better for his secret identity if people didn't know him. And Robin said basically what Max had. At least Superboy understood the importance of being called the right thing, even if he had run off right after Bart stopped talking because Wendy the Werewolf Stalker was on.
But Bart didn't get it. He bet Wally wouldn't want to be called Max Mercury, and Max wouldn't want to be called the Flash. Robin probably wouldn't like it if someone called him Nightwing. So why didn't anybody get it that Bart didn't want to be called Kid Flash?
At least all the civilians in Manchester knew their local hero's name.
