Remus wished he was able to force himself back to sleep, but as it was it seemed now that he was awake he was going to stay that way. Blinking dazedly the gurney lead him around, a strange feeling of helplessness overcame him, and he squeezed his eyes shut, not wanting to think like that. It hurt enough to keep the airflow in his body moving; he didn't want to think about anything else.
Once he was in a bed, he chanced a peek at his surroundings; they were old and simple but it could be much worse, he knew. He lay there for a few minutes, his ragged breath the only sound in the room, before he tried again to speak, impatient for some sort of noise to distract him.
"Pa..." He coughed before noticing for the first time the odd amount of red on Sirius's face; was that there before? "Pads...You-'k?"
