Status: Incomplete
Hestia hated bringing bad news back to the Order, but she knew this piece of information had to be shared. It was all right, in her mind, that she didn't inform Professor Dumbledore of her near exposure, now that Caradoc had assured her Cass wouldn't say a word to anyone. But an attack on the Ministry? Hestia couldn't avoid bringing the information back.
The scene had been a bloody mess. The blast could be felt underground, and at the moment it happened, the entire ministry had been thrown into chaos. All non-essential departments were shut down immediately and the Minister of Magic and his people were quickly moved down to the level of the courtrooms.
The Department of Magical Law Enforcement had been thrown into a frenzy, trying to figure out what happened. While some Aurors, like Hestia, weaved in and out of the muggle scene inconspicuously trying to figure out what happened by gathering evidence, others were protecting the Minister. Hit wizards and the Magical Law Enforcement Patrol were out looking for any leads possible at this point.
They let the muggles take care of their own dead, blending in as inconspicuously as possible. The department believed that whoever had done it had meant to kill the minister, but had failed. Security was tight coming in and out of the ministry, and the Department of Magical Law Enforcement was working around the clock to catch the perpetrators.
Although it had been reported on the news, the information hidden from the public and not reported by the Daily Prophet was the large sign carved into the ground. It was Gellert Grindelwald's sign, something that they had all been shown during training, but were told not to expect anymore. Through contacting the German Ministry, the aurors quickly discovered that Gellert had broken out of prison by disarming his guard and leaving him tied up. They kept this information on a need to know basis, and asked the German Ministry to do the same at this point in time. Hestia knew that this was all information that Dumbledore needed to know, and as soon as possible.
Hestia had excused herself at work late wednesday night, telling her colleagues she was going to go speak with an informant, to see if they had any information. She had waited as long as she possibly could, constantly looking for a window of opportunity in which she could leave. She made sure nobody was following her by apparating into several different places, before finally going to the safe house.
She made sure that the photographs from the scene were still in her pocket as she entered the safe house, looking for Dumbledore.
