Characters: Hermione Granger and Nymphadora Tonks Date: July 27, 1999, evening Location: Order safehouse Rating: TBD Summary: Hermione is anxious...again. This time it's her werewolf friends on top of Dorcas's sudden appearance that have got her worked up. Status: In progress
A lot had happened in the last few days, and Hermione was kept far busier than she could ever recall. When she wasn't at her lessons with Lovell, she was now brewing potions for the battered figure of Dorcas Meadowes. The woman had just arrived at the safehouse three days ago, and Hermione still didn't know who she really was, only that everyone, especially Sirius, was bent completely out of shape over her. Hermione could sympathize - she was feeling bent out of shape over her, and she didn't even know her. The only thing, however, that seemed to be working were the potions she'd learned to brew with Lovell, and so Hermione found herself consistently at the woman's bedside, monitoring her condition and trying to determine what would help most. All her spare time was spent researching, poring over the books that Lovell had loaned her and reading Healer manuals. She desperately wished that she had Healer training; then she could be more useful.
When Sirius got there, however, Hermione had been relieved of her duty - for a while, anyway - and she'd finally been able to get some rest. He'd left after lunch today, and Hermione was just now leaving Dorcas's room after administering a Blood-Replenishing Potion. There was nothing more she could do for the night, and one of the other residents had stepped into relieve her, sending her off to the kitchen to feed herself. And like the dutiful girl she was, Hermione stumbled straight there, sighing as she sank into one of the many chairs around the kitchen table. Her eyes drifted to the clock on the wall that told the month and day, along with the phases of the moon...her gaze lingered on the moon phase, and it was a good minute before she realized what she was looking at.
It was the full moon, and she'd completely forgot. Anxiety for Remus flooded her in an instant, followed on the heels by a newer anxiety for her potions tutor Lovell. A thousand concerned questions rushed through her mind, and she was thankful that someone else watching Dorcas right now. She'd never be able to concentrate.
