Log: Chitose and Kenya
Who: Chitose and Kenya Where: Practise When: ...Some day XD What: Kenya finds out about Chitose's eye :C Rating: G Comments: Adorableness ♥
After overhearing Osamu talking to one of the school nurses, Kenya headed straight to practice so he could actually talk to the topic of the conversation in person. He was worried, actually. Osamu had mentioned something to do with an injury, Chitose and his right eye. Kenya didn't think his friend had any problems, so now the worry was kind of eating him up inside and he wanted to make sure. Sighing he changed and grabbed his racket, getting the morning laps out of the way while he tried to think of how to approach Chitose.
He'd be late anyway.
Stretching, Kenya grabbed Zaizen for help but for once he was probably much more quiet than the other thought was right, he shrugged off that anything was wrong though - just that he was tired. Stupidly enough, that had been happening a lot lately. Stupid Kura and his stupid staying over and making him feel more comfortable like that. He looked at him in determination and headed straight towards Chitose when he saw the boy finally turn up. "Hey, Chitose!"
Normally Chitose was able to sneak into practice a little late without anyone taking note of him. It was a silent agreement: Chitose was late, no one worried about. He did everything, even if it wasn't right on schedule and that usually only bothered Koishikawa. Or at least he was the one usually saying something about it. Other were used to it.
Having someone to greet him wasn't something Chitose was used to, but he waved his hand like it was normally. "Hey Kenya. Who set your pants on fire?"
What the- Kenya spluttered at that and quickly yanked on Chitose's arm, trying to shove him back into the clubhouse so he could talk to him. Shiraishi would probably notice, even if he let Chitose off most of the time because normally it was quiet and he could slip in easily. "Shut up-" He bit his lip and shut the door behind him. "I wanna talk to you about something, idiot." He sniffed and put his racket on the side, hopping on the stop for a moment to try and get his courage up.
"Chitose..." He trailed off, eyes flickering to both look at Chitose's right eye. "Is your eye injured?" As soon as the words were out though, a small frown spread across his lips and he looked slightly uncomfortable for asking but... still. He had to know. Partly so he could be there for his friend if needed.
Chitose was made even more confused. Not only was he met right after coming to practice, he was also dragged somewhere to have a talk. That usually didn't happen. At least not by the blonde in front of him... who seemed somewhat worried. That made Chitose a bit worried, too. Did something happen?
Luckily his question was answered before he had to decide what to ask. Somehow Kenya had found out, huh? And he was pretty sure how. Either Osamu had been babbling or he had been talking with someone and Kenya had eavesdropped. Shiraishi never would have told... neither would Miyuki. "Yes."
Well, while he wasn't sure he was going to get a response, Kenya kind of... blinked at that. His eyes widened then as it sank in and his mouth opened a little - lips parting on instinct. "It... is...?" Then he was actually trying to see a difference. "But... you play so well, how-" The frown deepened, becoming sadder in a matter of seconds. "Chitose..." His voice actually went shaky or a moment, hardly able to understand it was even possible.
"When? How...?" His arms twitched, wanting to give the taller boy a hug though he wasn't sure if that would be allowed. Or maybe it would be better if/when he got some answers? Who knew.
Chitose sighed. He was so not prepared to explain this anymore. It just made him have to think about and be serious. Two things he didn't quite like... but seeing as Kenya had become a close friend and he trusted him, it would have been better to tell him everything, right?
"I used to play even better. Or well, I didn't have Muga back then, but, still", Chitose shrugged with a relaxed smile. "A tennis ball hit it. Straight into the eye."
"You..." Kenya's eye watered on instinct at that. Ow. "Was it..." On purpose. . ? He couldn't ask it aloud though, a lump getting stuck in his throat. He was hugging him in a second then though, pressing his face against him even if it was probably expected.
He swallowed and tried to not be so emotional about it, because Chitose was badass at tennis already... so if this was the case then... wow. "M'sorry." His voice came out muffled though, considering he was clinging to him.
Chitose petted the shother boys' hair and smiled a little sadly. Luckily Kenya couldn't have seen it. "Don't worry about it too much, Kenya. It's only my practice shirt, it doesn't matter if you make it wet", he joked.
"And it wasn't on purpose, if you were wondering. Just a new technique gone wrong... just... that."
"Shut up," Kenya sulked against him, sniffing once before he pushed the urge away. He could only imagine how much that would hurt. He didn't see the sad smile though, rather luckily. "Good though." At least it wasn't done with malicious intent and was just an accident. "M'still sorry though, even if that's the case."
He sighed and nuzzled him just a little, especially when his hair was petted and slowly pried himself off, even if he had to wipe his eyes with his arm quickly - trying to make sure Chitose would miss it.
"It happened a long time ago. I'm kind of over it... though I haven't seen the guy who did it in a long time... We've been calling each other from time to time though." Chitose said and shrugged slightly again. "He's my best friend, you know. But these kind of things sort of make you a bit distant."
"I know but..." Kenya chewed on his lip before he pouted at Chitose, still not quite happy about it. "But it still sucks, Senri." He murmured it quietly and reached out gently to tug on a strand of Chitose's hair as he thought for a moment. In fact, he puffed one cheek out before giving him a smile, even if it was only a small one. "Well, you have lots of friends now! So... something." Honestly, even he had no idea idea where he was going with that but... "Does it cause many problems?" At least the sad look was gone now, anyway?
Chitose smiled like he always did. Cheerfully, yet filled with lazy and comforting aura. "It doesn't. I just have some extra blind spots I need to be careful about", he said with a wink. "It's not hurt or anything... even if the school nurse would like me to get it checked again. But I haven't felt the need to."
Kenya smiled back warmly at that and reached up to pat both of Chitose's cheeks. His smile widened then, nice and bright and Kenya. "So it's mostly okay?" His hands flopped to Chitose's shoulders. He smiled and radiated warmth right then, as if in apology for dragging that up. He felt better knowing it was a past thing though and that it wasn't hurting now.
A hand rose from Chitoses side, making a small peace sign. "Yep", he confirmed and grinned. "And I'm even better, since I got to skip some practice."
Kenya laughed at that, grabbing Chitose's hand to link their fingers for a moment. "Yeah, yeah, some." Kenya tugged on his hand that, picking up his racket up on the way. "But now we need to get back before someone starts looking for us."
"Yeah yeah", Chitose said and scratched the back of his head. "I wouldn't want another lecture from Koishikawa."
"Exactly!" Kenya grinned over his shoulder and squeezed his hand. "Though you have me as an excuse~" And yes, Kenya planned on using his link to Shiraishi to wiggle out of it if needed. Though hopefully he wouldn't have to sink too low. "Good thing I have you on my side", Chitose smiled. Yeah, a good thing indeed. Shitenhouji had done a lot for him. A lot more than he ever would have dared to hope.
Kenya's smile widened as he opened the door, raising their arms up for a moment. "Always will." He let go then and started running. "I'll race ya!" He laughed though, even over his shoulder.
