Log: Shiraishi and Kenya [Part 2] Who: Shiraishi and Kenya Where: Cafe -> Cinema -> Kenya's When: Friday evening What: They have a date~ Rating: PG-13 Comments: You'll get cavities from reading this, seriously ♥
Kenya had no method other than using less energy... something he wasn't particularly good at to begin with. He did nod in agreement to that though, already wincing at the lecture from his mother he knew he'd get. She'd give him this whole talk about staying up late being bad for your health -- really, it totally sucked having doctors for parents sometimes. Great when you really were ill, horrid when you wanted to do anything else.
He just shrugged at that though, actually just suggesting it because he kind of... wanted to snuggle later on. Especially while asleep. He was probably getting spoiled with that, and he didn't want to admit it at all - so this was the best way of getting it without asking. "I've got plenty, so that's no problem. The spare toothbrush you use is still there too, so."
Snuggling was absolutely not a bad idea. Shiraishi wouldn't be apposed to it at all, and might even attempt it more if he knew Kenya wanted it. He didn't mind body contact at all. Case in point, he shifted to lean his head against Kenya's shoulder. "Guess that means we spend too much time sleeping at each others houses."
It wasn't a terrible thing at all, considering how long they'd known each other and how close they were. It would be impractical to have something so important like a toothbrush not available.
"Maybe we should start leaving clothes?" Shiraishi said after a moment, though it was more in jest than anything.
Maybe if he caught Kenya initiating it then, he might realise that Kenya wanted it? That was all part of his plan, anyway. Kenya ended up biting his lip gently when Shiraishi leaned there though, and hesitated before giving him a little nuzzle with his cheek, more to say it was alright than anything else. "Maybe..." He sounded almost disappointed that was probably the case though. 'Too much' sounded so negative. "Or just enough."
At least with Shiraishi leaning on him, the other boy wouldn't be able to see his face - especially when the curtains opened and the lights dimmed for the movie to start anyway. He lowered his voice then, whispering practically against Shiraishi's ear as he tilted his head a little. "Wouldn't that be a little too much?" It would almost... be too couply... maybe? Kenya honestly had no idea.
"Just enough sounds alright too." Shiraishi admitted, closing his eyes. Leaning against Kenya felt really nice, and he still felt he didn't really deserve the other teen at the moment. But the reason why he felt that way was going to go to the grave with him at all cost.
"It wasn't really a suggestion. Even if it would seem practical sometimes." Reluctantly, the older teen sat up from his semi-snuggled position when the first trailer came on. He didn't think he would be able to focus on the movie so close to Kenya the way he'd been. He... might want to just stay there most of the movie, and that might be bad.
"Maybe..." he trailed off then, thinking it over. "I guess if you really wanted to I could make space in my drawer?" He glanced at him when the trailer started though and Shiraishi pulled back. Unfortunately, Kenya really couldn't hide his emotions at all and the disappointment of Shiraishi pulling away was totally on his face.
He did take that as a sign that he could slump properly now though, sliding down the chair until he was pretty comfortable and curled up slightly, knees bent with his feet on the railing in front to stretch out a bit. "Just in case." He went quiet then though as the trailer kicked in, showing some other film that was coming soon. Some looked pretty good, others not so much.
It was a really good thing that Shiraishi wasn't able to see the disappointment. He might be tempted to kiss it away, and then they might spend the entirety of the previews on something they could have done elsewhere.
So, the older teen stretched his own limbs as he attempted to get into the previews. Unlike his best friend, Shiraishi only really thought one looked remotely interesting enough to waste money on. Even then, it was a bit of a stretch. He might just stream it from some online website somewhere instead. But as the movie finally started, he reached for the popcorn and pulled back with a few kernels in hand. The butter flavoring had made it a little gross against his fingers, and it made him desperately want to wash his hands. Instead, he wiped his fingers on a napkin and handed the popcorn over to Kenya for him to eat the rest.
"You can have it."
What could he say? Kenya liked films that had lots of explosions and had a fast pace. He was pretty simple like that. In fact, that was partly why he was excited about the last 2 Harry Potter films - for the battle scenes that would be in them.
"Ah, really?" He did blink at him at that, but moved his hand to grab a handful, popping them into his mouth two at a time and chewed them quickly. "You've hardly eaten anyway though." True that they felt awful, but they tasted great. He, personally, would have preferred caramel, but at least this way they were sharing at least a little. Unlike Shiraishi though, he wiped his hands on his legs to clean them, not really caring about the oil getting in his jeans. They'd be alright after a wash or two. That and he didn't think to bring a napkin in with him.
When the film finally started up though, he'd finished most of the popcorn and set it down on the floor between them - if only so he'd be able to sneakily snuggle closer to Shiraishi during the movie if he got too bored.
Shiraishi only hummed in response to Kenya pointing out his lack of enthusiasm when it came to the popcorn. It tasted good, yes, but he couldn't quite get over the oil and the knowledge that it would probably go to his hips or mid-section. For as much rice as he binged on during lunch sometimes, he didn't exactly want to get fat.
Not far along in the movie, and it was already getting intense, though. But then, Harry Potter was sort of famous for that, given that many of them started out with antics or thrills enough to draw the attention in. Which was why Shiraishi turned his attention away from the screen to take a peak at Kenya. He knew his best friend well enough that his reactions may just be more entertaining than the movie itself.
When the battles and well... the chases started, Kenya tensed up slightly so he wouldn't start squirming in his seat. There was a slight wiggle there though at first, and his hands pressed against his legs to try and keep them steady before a twitch kicked in. He had no idea that Shiraishi was actually starting to watch him instead though, otherwise he would have tried to cover his face so the other didn't see his reactions.
First though, his eyes went wide and he started murmuring 'come on' under his breath, pretty much gripping onto his thighs by then to not get too involved with the movie. It was alright at home where there wasn't a whole cinema of people to disturb, but really something had to happen soon right? There was running and running and why was there not enough action yet?
It wouldn't seem right to laugh at the sequence of events on the screen, so Shiraishi had to bite his lip to hold his amusement in. Kenya was... really too adorable sometimes. He could be as manly as he thought to be, and still just about everyone the poor teen in question knew thought he was cute for some reason or another. And truly, it was hard not to think such thoughts with how wonderful he was.
Lifting his own hand, the older teen slid his own on top of Kenya's and squeezed his hand gently. He didn't say anything, though. Just turned his attention toward the screen again and began to watch the movie.
Luckily Kenya wouldn't hear that thought of Shiraishi's as he'd end up protesting it to high heaven. He didn't want to be cute. He just... managed to be excited really easily. It was rather insane actually, just how into something he could be. That mixed with his lack of patience wasn't the best of things though. His hand did kind of... well spasm when Shiraishi's landed on top of it though, before it unclenched slightly to make it easier for Shiraishi to hold it.
It was enough to make him untense though, to turn his attention to his best friend, blushing lightly as he gaped slightly. Just a little before he looked back to the movie again.
After around five to ten minutes though, he forced himself to relax and shifted a little to let his cheek flop to rest against Shiraishi's arm, his hand squeezing Shiraishi's fingers gently as he kind of snuggled into the position.
He'd felt that it came as a surprise to Kenya, and he knew it would. But what he hadn't exactly counted on was just how comfortable Kenya seemed to be in the position they were in. Holding hands in a dark theater, and semi-snuggling. Really, Shiraishi wished there weren't any arm rests in the way and there was more room, though. Then maybe they could be even more comfortable.
But this was fine, too. There was plenty of time later. So, he laced his fingers with Kenya's and smiled down at the other teen before he turned his attention to focus more on the movie now than before. After all, it was starting to get really good. They couldn't, and shouldn't, miss the parts that explained the second half of the movie when it came out a year from then.
It was nice and comfortable, though. Despite Shiraishi's rear end starting to fall asleep from the seat cushions.
Comfortable... wasn't the best word for it. As yucky as it was, Kenya's hand was getting a little hot and clammy with nerves, as much as he tried to stop it. In fact, he even took a few small, shallow breaths to try and get his breathing rate to regulate again and he forced his eyes to stay on the screen and not glance up at his best friend. Partly because he knew the blush on his face was only slowly getting worse.
That also meant he was keeping his face locked against Shiraishi's arm, because at least like that the other wouldn't be able to see his face so easily, as silly as that sounded. Instead he just gave him a tiny nuzzle, cheek rubbing there as his hand curled back against Shiraishi's even more. At least the movie was getting to the important parts now and there was a lot going on, so he didn't feel the need to glance at Shiraishi at all, the movie stole all of his attention.
Even if Kenya's face wasn't against his arm, Shiraishi more than likely wouldn't have been able to see it so well anyway. It was dark, and before when he'd watched the expressions cross his best friend's features he'd had a somewhat hard time trying to piece together what emotions it all held. But when he received the second nuzzle, he craned his long, elegant neck to check on Kenya. What he saw wasn't much easier to make out than before, but when a quick, bright flash illuminated the theater from the screen for a moment, he saw the deep blush on Kenya's cheeks. Or, at least, what he could see of his cheeks.
Smiling, his own expression took on a more soft tone as he rubbed his thumb against Kenya's hand and focused again on the screen. Kenya could be so absolutely endearing, it was hard not to like him. Something about his best friend had always tugged on his heart strings, and he was always glad he could hide it.
Careful not to move the arm Kenya was against, Shiraishi leaned a little closer, neck tipping so he could talk. "Are you okay?"
"Mngh?" Kenya blinked up at him, just slightly and had to kind of twist a bit to do so. Half of his attention was on the screen, half diverted to look at his best friend. He was trying to stay calm, after all, to stay calm and not drown in the boy next to him or something. Or at least the clean smell of detergent that came with him anyway. "M'fine, why?" His hand twitched slightly when Shiraishi's thumb rubbed over it and his eyes sort of fluttered. To make up for that, he made sure his gaze went back to the film for Shiraishi would hopefully miss it.
"Are you?" Kenya squeezed his hand gently and slightly pulled his own away, only to recurl his fingers against Shiraishi's again, almost like he was trying to get rid of a cramp there. In fact, he'd sort of gone limp against his best friend, enjoying the warmth and comfort while the movie played. He hadn't even tensed up for once during the fight scenes.
"Just checking." The older teen replied as he tugged Kenya's hand along with his own. He brought the other boy's hand to his lips and kissed the back of his hand, then willed himself to release it. It was a completely romantic move, and he wasn't sure where it even came from, but the desire to have done that was so great that he couldn't resist it. Not at all. Though, honestly, he hadn't wanted to let go of Kenya's hand, but with him pulling away just slightly, Shiraishi figured he wanted to let go.
"You're being really still, is all." It kind of worried him, actually. What, with Kenya being notorious for wiggling in movies and all. "So, just making sure you're okay."
No, really, Kenya hadn't meant that at all. That move had kind of caught him off guard though, in fact, Shiraishi could probably catch the soft hitch of his breath as it caught against Shiraishi's arm and forced a slight tingle down his own arm. His fingers wiggled again, but he didn't let go of Shiraishi's hand, even when he tried to. That was answer enough, right? Especially since he tilted his head slightly to press a tiny kiss against Shiraishi's arm in response to it, blushing madly after doing so.
As for not moving though, Kenya hadn't even noticed. Now it had been pointed out though he realised how tense he'd gotten from actually staying still and nestling into Shiraishi's side. Ow. He pressed his free hand against his leg, trying to get rid of a knot of two there from when it'd started. Oops. "M'just comfortable." He murmured that quietly though, so it was almost questionable about whether Shiraishi would catch it or not. Partly because he was still sort of buried against his arm. He was missing a part of the movie, but he could live with that.
Shiraishi blinked down in surprise for a moment, honestly not having expected such a reaction at all. When Kenya refused to let their hands separate, he was, quite frankly, taken aback. He'd expected that they would part and continue watching the movie in peace. To acknowledge the occurrence and move on like making out earlier had been. But Kenya even kissed his arm to say it was alright. It was the first time he could remember Kenya taking a step forward and it...
Well, it actually made Shiraishi blush a little too. He tried not to look so happy when Hermione was being tortured, but it was honestly a hard thing for the particularly happy teen to do. Especially when he wanted to jump out of his seat and start singing some sappy love song like he were part of a Broadway musical. He... kind of soared that much. Which was kind of silly in the long run, honestly.
Nodding, he acknowledged what Kenya said though he could just barely make it out. But none-the-less, he gave a gentle squeeze to Kenya's hand and relaxed back in his chair more so the rest of the movie could play out in comfort.
After he felt more than saw Shiraishi nod, Kenya peeked out from the spot in Shiraishi's arm he'd pressed his face against. At first he tried to glance up at his best friend, but that didn't quite work out because of the darkness, so instead he turned his attention to the screen and ouch... Luckily he didn't really get affected by those kinds of things, but what Bellatrix had carved into Hermoine's arm did look pretty painful.
He forced a few slow breaths out, even if he was more used to breathing kind of off naturally anyway. If any natural disease got him, it'd be a heart attack for sure. Something Kenya wasn't particularly looking forward too, but hopefully he wouldn't overwork himself too much to get there. Instead, he kind of... sapped some of the calm out from his best friend and let himself slump in the seat for once. Tensing up was one thing, breathing crazily was another entirely.
In fact, when they got out of the Malfoy's mansion and ended up on the beach he was calm again, at least until the sad scene that came up next anyway... Then a tiny frown came across his face as it was pretty sad.
Actually, that was very sad. Shiraishi didn't cry like he could overhear other people in the theater sniffling, but he did mutter a soft, sad, 'aww Dobby' as his own expression twisted into something fitting for the scene before them. But soon the movie ended, and the credits started rolling.
"What a sad part to leave us on." How on earth were they supposed to smile again after that? The movie makers were clearly playing the role of Dementors, sucking the life and cheer out of a room. Though, honestly, that thought did lighten the mood. Along with thinking they needed a little chocolate to make them feel better.
"Isn't the whole seventh book supposed to be depressing?" Kenya's mouth was still tugged down in that frown too. So far, it was going along with that perception anyway. He hadn't read the books, but he'd read rumors about the books that were pretty much official. Sort of, anyway.
He did pull himself away from Shiraishi when the credits rolled though, mainly to stretch considering he'd cramped himself up something horrid. His legs were probably going to be numb when he tried to walk again. They were at least going to be tingly anyway. Chocolate sounded great though, Kenya's mom probably had a stash in the cupboard for PMS emergencies that they could steal, considering when they got out the cinema would be closing. "C'mon then." The lights were flicked on before the credits even finished and now Kenya could move again... well he was kind of half hopping on the spot from being sat still for so long. It didn't work out in the long run really.
"Seems more like the ending of the story in general is supposed to be depressing." The older teen replied as he too stood. Actually he was also very grateful that the movie had ended, because even he was a little stiff from being in the same basic position for almost two hours. While Yoga gave him flexibility and endurance in strange positions for a long time, he'd never been in one for more than twenty minutes at the longest. So, even he stretched a bit as he stood.
"Are we still game for staying up until dawn?" Shiraishi followed behind Kenya, and shivered a little as they hit the late night air and it's unwelcoming chill. Honestly, he probably should have dressed a little more appropriately for the cold, rather than wear a jacket that had three quarter sleeves. Especially with how easily chilled he could be sometimes. Circling his arms around himself, he tried to keep them warm more than the rest of himself. "It's okay if we don't. Not sure either of us can make it."
"Seriously?" Kenya looked over his shoulder, giving Shiraishi an incredulous look at the fact that it was still going to be depressing. He'd kind of heard the epilogue gave it a happy ending though, so if that was in the film it shouldn't be too bad right? Hopefully, anyway. Kenya ended up hopping for a second when he got outside, the ache in his right leg kind of kicking in full force when the cold air greeted it. Ow. He just gave it a quick rub though, luckily having Shiraishi's shoulder to grab onto for balance. He hadn't asked for it, but a soft "thanks" was given to him anyway.
Dawn... did kind of sound unacheivable right then though, so Kenya went with second best. "Could always go back to mine and watch through the window if we make it until then?" He didn't think either of them were dressed to wait outside for it to get to dawn anyway. Especially since it was only after 2.30-3amish anyway.
"Seriously." He confirmed, shoving his hands into the pockets of his jacket. It was more to keep warm than anything, though he suspected they weren't exactly deep enough for the job.
Actually, had he not wanted to still smell nice by the time they got to Kenya's house, he might have suggested they race back. Even though he knew the winner would definitely be Kenya. But he hadn't wanted to sweat and make a stink of himself, because there were no clothes for him to change into in the morning that would be not so gross.
"Depends on if we're laying in bed, though?" Not that it mattered, anyway. The suggestion had been because it was romantic, and not because it was a challenge.
"...Damn." Kenya pulled a face at that. This movie had been depressing as it was (yes, the actual movie itself, the company on the other hand...). Kenya sighed and started walking in the direction of his house. There weren't any buses running at this time or he'd suggest getting one of those. He only had a shirt on, so he ended up rubbing his arms as well to keep warm.
Kenya did get slightly flustered at that comment though, if only because of how it came out so easily. Plus, the laying part in there seemed to make it much easier to digest than 'if we're in bed' would have done. "Either way works really. It'd be warmer huddled under covers though." Especially after being outside for the walk home. Luckily he didn't live too far from this district, but it was far enough. "You should probably let your parents know where you are too, just so they don't panic or anything."
See, he could be responsible sometimes, though that was mainly because he had to think about his own parents trying to get into his room while they were asleep or something.
Silly Kenya, he'd already thought of it. Shiraishi had warned his parents that he might be sleeping over at Kenya's place, or Kenya might come home with him after the movie. Or that he might just come home like all was normal. Being a chess player, he tended to think several steps ahead of the game sometimes. "I told them before coming out."
Taking his jacket off, though, he handed it to Kenya with a small smile. "We can share. You can have it part way, and I'll take it when we get close."
With Shiraishi's idea, it made it so they could use each other for warmth when they got in since no doubt they'd both be very cold. Even with the sharing the his jacket.
Well, that made Kenya blink for a second. Oh. Well. "Oh." He looked a little too surprised too, though that was mainly because he was proud of himself for actually coming up with something for once. Shiraishi had been one step ahead though, again. Of course, the shock only seemed to continue when Shiraishi handed his jacket over to him too, another soft 'oh' slipping out. God, apparently the cold was freezing his brain or something, it wasn't working well enough. "Sure, then?" He didn't think it'd do much good, he pulled it on anyway though - mainly so he could inhale Shiraishi's scent without needing to be insanely close to him.
"We shouldn't be too long anyway." Nope, in fact in ten minutes time he was holding out Shiraishi's jacket for him again so he could take it the rest of the way. The walking had helped him a little too, so he was an alright temperature now.
When his jacket was back in his own possession, he gratefully took it back and snuggled into the still warm fabric. For some reason, he had the suspicion that Kenya threw more warmth off than he did, and that... sort of made him a target. Well, at least for the snuggle monster that lived inside of Shiraishi, anyway. Which also made him wish they were already there.
"You live closer to everything." Shiraishi remarked, unconciously stepping a little closer to Kenya.
"That's because my parents bought a house in a very good spot?" Kind of, anyway. One of the perks of having parents who were doctors. Kenya just shrugged though after that. "Maybe anyway." He flashed Shiraishi a smile, laughing a little at the same time. "I guess that's why we usually end up at mine too, actually." It was closer to things. His parents needed to have a good access to the clinic - be it an actual doctors clinic or the hospital.
At least they were nearly back now, in fact Kenya speeding up a little and pulling his key out of his pocket proved that. "Do you wanna grab some tea or anything before we head upstairs?" He unlocked the door, sighing in relief when warmth greeted them. Of course, he locked the cool air outside immediately once Shiraishi followed him inside. At least now they didn't have to worry about freezing their asses off.
He kicked off his shoes and nudged them against the wall, already heading to the kitchen. He actually wanted hot chocolate more than anything. It was warm and sweet, kind of making up for the popcorn from earlier.
Nudging his own shoes off, the Buchou placed them in the most convenient position that seemed rather out of the way in terms of the rest of the shoes in the pile. He didn't want to make himself somewhat of a nuisance or anything, after all. Soon, he followed Kenya into the kitchen where he wrapped his arms around himself and stood in the door way. It was much warmer in the home, but it still took him a while to warm up in comparison. In fact, it would take nothing short of standing over the stove with his hands near the heating coils to make his hands feel less like blocks of ice.
"Tea sounds wonderful, actually. I can use the cup to warm my hands on." Stepping further into the kitchen, he came up behind Kenya and stuck his hands on the other teen's arm. "Since they're cold."
Well luckily for Shiraishi, Kenya wasn't planning on making the hot chocolate with the microwave. He'd already grabbed the saucepan out of the cupboard and was already heating up the cocoa powder and milk. He yelped though when Shiraishi's cold hands pressed against his arm and pouted at him. It was still pretty dark in the room as he'd only put on the lights with the lowest dim so he wouldn't wake his parents up. So far it had worked anyway. "Wanna pick out some tea from the boxes, I'll make it for you if you let go of my arm." He stirred the saucepan with his other hand though, so there wouldn't be any lumps in his drink.
Honestly, he would have offerered the same for his friend but he doubted Shiraishi would really like it compared to the boring tea. Sort of. He knew really it was more of a health issue, but unlike Shiraishi he didn't care about the fat that came from some things as it just helped him get more muscles for running in the long run.
Snickering, the youth let go of Kenya's arm and turned toward the cupboards. Having spent enough time in Kenya's home he was familiar with the particular layout of many things, such as the kitchen. So, it hadn't taken long to find the tea, where he took a bag from a box and turned to grab cups out of another one for their respective drinks. Though, truthfully, Shiraishi probably wouldn't have minded hot chocolate at all since it seemed that Kenya was doing it the more natural way, and not via some powdered drink mix with fake marshmellows. Those tasted great, but he'd always felt a little guilty after drinking them. Which wasn't often.
Shiraishi set the cups down on the counter beside Kenya, then turned to lean against a bit of free space on the counter. If he were at his own home, he might be inclined to hop up on the counter, but since he was a guest he didn't do as he wanted.
"There you are, chef. Make it good~" He teased.
Well Kenya's main reasoning for the hot chocolate was that coffee was a terrible idea at this time, and tea... well wasn't exactly something he enjoyed that much. Though honestly, if Shiraishi had spoken up earlier he would have doubled up the batch for him, there was still the option of him taking a few sips though, that or... getting a taste another way. Kenya moved to hit him with the unused end of the wooden spoon for a joke though, before he left that in the saucepan to click the switch on the electric kettle, luckily it being one of those energy preserving ones so it went straight into the cup with the tea bag in it at the push of a button.
"Sure, sure," he rolled his eyes. "I'll get you your perfect tea." He stirred the saucepan again once the cup had enough water in it. "Want anything in it or as it is?" There were so many different types of tea that he couldn't even remember which was better with what --- if anything at all.
He poured his hot chocolate into his cup then, swiping his finger against the edge as he moved to put it in the sink only to lick off the excess hot chocolate first. "Mmm," okay, it had turned out pretty well this time. He filled that up with water and left it there for the morning.
More than likely, Shiraishi would get his taste the other way, but of course not immediately. Especially not when he was looking forward to his own cup of something hot. Which, he kind of watched like a hawk until it was done.
"It's green, so nothing in it, no." Green tea tastes more mild than black teas without sugar, but it was still a little bitter to the taste buds all the same. Though going against tea traditions was not exactly something he chose to practice, even if he wasn't quite into the ceremonial aspect of tea. There were just some things the teen didn't break tradition on.
However that 'mmm' sounded a little perverse, but that was just Shiraishi's mind going into the gutter.
Well Kenya would have to drink enough to taste like it first anyway. "Oh." Kenya pulled a face at that, thinking it sounded pretty icky, but he finished it up exactly as he'd been told to anyway, handing it over to him after. Then, of course he picked up his own cup and curled his hands around it. He took a sip and sighed happily, already heading for the door. "Let's go upstairs then." Of course Kenya missed the noises he made while drinking the hot chocolate, so that was kind of his own fault... right?
"I can learn the art of tea making for you when it isn't 4am," he did turn off the light too so they only had the street lamps to help them up. That was more of a danger to Kenya than Shiraishi, but a danger nonetheless. "Remember to stay quiet though." He tip toed up the stairs, making sure to avoid creaky stairs, and moved to open the door to his room, keeping it open so Shiraishi could step in and he could shut the door before switching the lamp on his desk on.
His own cup was still much too hot to actually hold in a way that would warm his hands. So, he held the mug in one, and used his other to feel the wall so he didn't walk into anything. Not that his eyes weren't well enough adjusted to dim lighting by now, but precautions and all.
"This kind of tea is fine, Kenya." Shiraishi finally replied as they were safely tucked inside Kenya's room. He hadn't wanted to talk out in the hallway, since they were sneaking around and otherwise they could be caught. "I'm not a complicated person."
Even though he knew Kenya was being sarcastic with him, he felt the need to reply in the more matter of fact manner, considering it was all true. He wasn't a tea addict, nor was he complicated. Well, not really, anyway. Taking a sip of his warm, bitter tea, he moved to wave at Kenya's pet iguana, who was oddly awake and watching them. "I think this guy gets big every time I see him. They grow like kids..."
Now there was a semi-light in the room Kenya put his drink on his desk and went to sort out food for the iguana anyway, considering they weren't going to be awake for it's breakfast. At least he could do that and reply to Shiraishi. "If you say so, I'll try and remember to get the weird green colored stuff for next time then." He laughed quietly and gave his pet a light stroke with the back of his finger anyway, smiling at it. "It's gets fed properly I guess? And they can grow, unlike beetles." He nudged Shiraishi then, but he was smiling at him more than making that mocking.
"Wanna change now?" At least the pyjamas in his draw were warm if the heat had been on a while. He moved over to his closet and picked two pairs out anyway though, throwing one in Shiraishi's direction to land next to him on his computer chair and started unfastening the top buttons on his shirt considering he was kind of facing the other way and well, they'd seen each other change at least that much in the club house already... any more than that though and he was going to get awkward.
That was precisely why he did slip out momentarily to use the bathroom to change into his pyjama bottoms, shoving the dirty laundry into his hamper in the corner of his room.
Shiraishi chuckled softly at the jab to his own pet, though he kept his own retort in because it wasn't very good. And he knew that if he had a young brother instead of an older sister and younger sister, he might not have as much joy out of a bug for a pet as his sisters did the family cat. Girls and bugs didn't tend to mix, after all. And they tended to avoid the area of his room that in inhabited. Sometimes they would avoid it all together, since he was notorious for giving the beetle free reign of his room.
However, when the PJ's landed near him, he set his cup down, took them up and began undressing. Though, when Kenya slipped out of the room he became quite amused with the other teen's modesty. It was honestly very cute, the way he'd done that. But it also gave Shiraishi the time to slip out of his own pants and into the ones his best friend provided. Which where, honestly, very comfortable. Kenya's clothes were a little big in comparison to his own, which were smaller due to his own very thin build.
Folding his clothes, he set them into a neat pile on the computer chair and took his tea cup back up. Now it was much cooler to the touch, but still very warm. Enough that he could sit on the bed, cross legged and sip at the bitter liquid while he reveled in smelling like Kenya's things.
Kenya made a bee line for his hot chocolate once he was in the room and had locked the door. He took a few sips of his drink, and padded around his room to make sure he'd done everything for the night... then shifted towards the bed once he was all done. Most of it was extra iguana maintenance anyway, and he might have murmured a quiet goodnight to the darling lizard with hope that Shiraishi wouldn't hear it. Ah well, either way really.
"Was the tea alright then?" he half wiggled into a free spot on the bed then, pulling the covers up enough to get his feet warm underneath the sheets. Of course he hadn't considered that he'd still need to brush his teeth even if he had already washed while he was in the bathroom before. Really he could have showered in the same amount of time, but it was kind of unnecessary when he had a guest over. "Or was I not up to par?" He looked amused though, so Shiraishi didn't have to worry about it being anything but teasing really.
Of course, Kenya would understand about the pet situation. His iguana could roam about his room if it wanted, which he was pretty sure it did while he was out. Especially to the curtain poles. Luckily they were sturdy enough to hold the thing, bless it.
Oh, but he had heard Kenya's goodnight to his iguana, and found it adorable all the same. With how much maintenance he did to keep his pet up, it was clear that he cared about the pet. But then, he just seemed to have a lot of love that way.
"There isn't much to screw up when the tea pot does all the work for you, Kenya." Shiraishi winked at his best friend, teasing him back. Though, a moment later he reached over Kenya to put his mostly finished tea on the night stand so it wasn't knocked over. Then, he used his position to his advantage as he leaned up to gently kiss the other teen. He wanted to get a taste of Kenya's lips with hot cocoa residue, and figured that after a drink would be the best timing. Tada~
Well at least Shiraishi wasn't mentioning it, which made Kenya a lot less embarassed about it anyway. Kenya was pretty much a bottomless pit of happiness for the most part though, it was difficult to make him sad for a long time, so it made a lot of sense he'd be able to take care of a pet the way he did. Especially giving it lots of care and affection.
"Exactly my point." Kenya laughed quietly, only for it to kind of end up muffled when Shiraishi leaned to kiss him anyway. The only problem was, Kenya was still holding onto his cup and multitasking body parts was not his speciality, especially when part of it involved balacing something. Carefully, he tried to nudge the rest of his drink onto the table, kissing back properly when that problem was pushed aside. Of course, he didn't quite get where the sudden kiss came from, but he wasn't going to complain about it, now was he?
Kenya, at least, seemed to manage it. Shiraishi had to rest his hand against the mattress in order not to fall into him, which might have been a fun idea had it not been for the cocoa. Or the fact that they might make noise when either of them hit the wall or bed too hard when the cocoa was gone. Though it saddened him a little that he wasn't exactly getting a taste of the residue on Kenya's lips.
"Mmm, not getting a taste." He whispered against Kenya's lips. A moment later he dragged his tongue gently against his lips as he wound his free arm around Kenya's neck.
That and Kenya didn't really want to get squished into the bed either, at least not from being flopped on quite as much as just being laid on like what had happened last time. Kenya did, however, gasp at the other's tongue on his mouth, the words clicking as slowly he started to get what he was doing. Honestly though, he didn't get why he didn't just ask for a sip of the drink itself. This worked too though, especially when his lips parted enough for Shiraishi's tongue to slip inside and take the taste he wanted.
Of course Kenya didn't quite have the same ...ah mentality as Shiraishi either, kisses made him far too weak which was partly why he was kind of slumping into the headboard, being careful enough so Shiraishi really wouldn't fall on him. It was a close call, but considering his hands moved to press against Shiraishi's shoulders and clutched at the material there, all was well.
Oh, there it was. Shiraishi couldn't figure what part was better - the vague taste of chocolate or the taste of chocolate mixed with Kenya's own unique flavor. Either way, he got the taste he wanted, now that his tongue slipped just inside Kenya's mouth.
Shiraishi was absolutely no kind of kissing expert, but it didn't seem hard to try. Not that he'd read up about it or anything silly like that. Even if maybe he should at some point, because all he knew about kissing was what they'd done, what he'd seen in movies or tv, and... the kind of soul-sucking, sexy kisses Osamu had issued only days before. So, needless to say, he didn't really know exactly what he was doing, even if Shiraishi's tongue slid against Kenya's. Though, of course he was grateful that Kenya had him by the shoulders. It helped to steady him as well as enable him to rest his other hand against the headboard behind his best friend.
Kenya was pretty glad the taste of chocolate actually drowned out the tea, that or the tea just hadn't stuck to his best friends mouth that well. It worked in his favor though. Kenya's hands were shaking again too, though he managed to steady them after a few moments by clinging onto Shiraishi's shirt a little tighter. A tiny moan slipped out before he could stop himself too and his face heated up for it, especially as he didn't want to actually make such embarrassing noises.
Hesitantly, he did slide his tongue back against Shiraishi's though and his eyes fluttered shut as he tried to get used to how weird it was. Weird but really kind of amazing. He slid down a little more then, trying to make it more comfortable, and pulled Shiraishi a little closer. He did hold him steady too though so he wouldn't fall on him. Or as steady as Kenya could, at least.
Even his cheeks burned a little when he heard Kenya's small moan. It was such a motivating sound, too, that he was sure he wanted to hear more of. Was sure he wanted to make louder, even. It was thrilling. Shiraishi knew his best friend's cheeks were on fire, though, and he should probably stop before he let himself get carried away. Hormones were all the rage, after all. And Kissing Kenya was ten times better because feelings were involved.
Shiraishi sucked gently on Kenya's tongue as he began to pull away. He didn't really want to be hovering over the other teen the rest of the night, and it might not be a good idea to use him as a body pillow if they continued to make out. So, he shifted to the side of the bed where he could lay next to his best friend.
"You taste good." He smiled, a hint of deviousness touching his eyes.
Don't mind Kenya while he makes another one of those noises, especially when Shiraishi actually sucked on his tongue. His hands clenched on Shiraishi's shirt for a moment, before he let go when his best friend pulled away. He looked absolutely dazed at first too, dazed and flustered. In fact, he took a moment to cover his eyes with his arm, still blushing heavily as he swatted at him. "Idiot." Kenya's stomach wouldn't stop fluttering now either, so to distract himself he twisted around to get the last of his hot chocolate - pushing it away when the cup was empty.
He did wiggle closer again once that was done though, and tucked the covers around them so he could snuggle a bit. He tried to sneakily do that actually, first by turning to bury his face against Shiraishi's shoulder, then to slowly and really hesitantly slide his arm over his best friend's side. See he could be sort of forward when he wanted to be. That and it was warmer like this. Totally... the reason, yes.
Shiraishi probably shouldn't be as forward as he was being, honestly. It made him feel and seem pushy, but Kenya was kind of irresistible that way, and he'd always liked to make the younger teen blush.
However, he was entirely amused by how Kenya had tried to be sly about snuggling. It was amazing, really. But Shiraishi settled a little more into place and got more comfy as he resigned being a pillow for his best friend. He'd known the peaceful feeling through yoga, but this kind of peace didn't really compare. It was nicer and definitely more comfortable, which was an odd feeling considering he had another boy's weight on him. Which wasn't actually a lot.
"Yeah, but I'm an idiot for you." Shiraishi finally said, feeling a little silly for having said that aloud. Eh, but what's done was done.
Well honestly, if Shiraishi wasn't at least a little forward they wouldn't get anywhere, would they? Kenya absolutely failed at that, he was much better at just responding than anything. Even if it made him flustered or nervous. Besides, Shiraishi would be well aware if he pushed too far too quickly. So far, it was a good amount.
Kenya did snuggle closer though now Shiraishi had shifted and he could. When he felt like it was safe, he peeked up to look at him, giving him a kind of shy smile really because this was comfortable. And he was still blushing like crazy, especially at what Shiraishi said. In fact, a laugh bubbled up at that before Kenya could stop himself, and he had to re-bury his face against Shiraishi to try and muffle it. They should have been really tired by now, especially since he'd been up since 6.47am or something, instead he felt like he could run a marathon around the world at full speed - seriously.
More than likely it was adrenaline and caffeine keeping them awake. That, and they were both strapping young boys who were healthy and virile. But the more they got comfortable was the more Shiraishi could feel all of it wearing off in favor of sleep.
But when Kenya acted like such a shy little boy, Shiraishi couldn't help feeling like a pervert. Or being amused. He reached up to card his fingers through his best friend's hair, noting that it was softer than it seemed like it would be since he bleached it constantly. For a moment, he was entirely fascinated by it, finding it completely strange that it was that soft. Though after that moment, he leaned forward a little and kissed the top of Kenya's head gently.
"What are you being so shy for, Kenya?" Oh, it was cute. He wasn't complaining, no. Just questioning why. "We've seen each other down to our underwear more than a handful of times. Is this really worse?"
True, especially after drinking soda. That tended to be loaded with caffiene. Kenya wasn't so lucky though, even if the hot chocolate had made him slightly drowsy, it wasn't enough to combat the nerves and general flutteryness that was going on inside of him right then.
He let his eyes shut at the hand sliding through his hair though, breathing nice and slow for once as it relaxed him enough to not be as energetic as he'd felt a few moments before. "It's just different, Kura." He did blush even further at the comment the other had tacked on the end there though, but he didn't freak out too much thanks to how relaxed he was getting from the attention he was getting.
Now the laugher had died out too he could look up again, giving him a wider smile this time. "It's just taking some getting used to, deal with it." He poked him lightly and let that smile widen even further, pretty much radiating happiness right then.
Shiraishi honestly had to physically remember how to breath when Kenya smiled at him the way he did. He was absolutely stunning, and almost a little too bright for his vision, considering his best friend seemed more like a second sun than anything else.
"I am dealing with it." He flicked Kenya's bangs in jest and smiled his own slightly devious, but good natured smile. "It's just a little weird seeing you act like a..." Oh, that was funny. Shiraishi snickered. "School boy."
Kenya leaned up on one arm to flick Shiraishi back for that, just lightly. "Oh shush, I am a school boy." Even his ears felt hot then though, because it was true. He really had no idea how he was supposed to even act though, so all the mumbled up nerves and hesitation was much more apparent. He didn't stop smiling though, even if it faded just a little. "Not all of us seem to adapt to everything easily." He took a deep breath, feeling it rattle his ribcage for a moment. "Besides, you know I get easily flustered anyway." At least he could admit that much.
Now he was leaning up on his arm though, he licked his lips quickly, thinking and hesitating for a moment before he leaned up to give Shiraishi another kiss, kind of hoping that would keep him quiet at the same time.
The older teen flinched a little when his hair was flicked, eyes closing and reopening once Kenya's hand was away again. He chuckled softly a moment later, though. They both were school boys, and he did know he assimilated better than his best friend. It hadn't stopped him from thinking it was a little weird, albeit adorable all the same.
However, when Kenya leaned up to kiss him, his own stomach did flip flops but for an entirely different reason than nerves. It was the same feeling he'd gotten when Kenya wouldn't let go of his hand in the theater. The thrilling feeling that Kenya instigated it and that he wasn't being too pushy - Kenya actually liked him. For that reason, he kissed the younger teen back, his own cheeks darkening just a little as he kept quiet. Well, at least for a moment anyway.
"Being so easily flustered is what makes you fun sometimes." He admitted, his lips only a breath away. "But only sometimes."
Kenya had looked slightly amused when Shiraishi actually flinched as his own hair was flicked, knowing he didn't really like it. It wasn't as if he did it often though, so once in retaliation wouldn't kill him. When they were kissing again though, he could feel his heart race again, and unlike after running so much his lungs felt like they would burst, it was a different kind of ache. Kenya, personally, didn't mind it so much, esecially when it actually got his best friend to blush a little as well.
"Ah?" He blinked down at him, slightly confused for a moment as his mind had cut off again during the kiss and that slightly dazed expression was back. He'd kind of melted against Shiraishi a little too, considering it had taken more courage than he actually had to pull that off. "What about the other times then?" And now he looked worried, thinking that his inability to control his reactions really was offputting or something.
Aww, Kenya needn't be worried about it, really. There was nothing about Kenya that was offputting, at least not in Shiraishi's opinion, anyway. So, he smiled and leaned up a little to kiss Kenya's forehead.
"The other times you're just..." Shiraishi let his words trail off for a moment, teasing the other teen still. More so for him not to say 'amazing' like he wanted to. "you. You're very good to be around."
Smiling, he cupped his best friend's cheek and ran his thumb gently over his skin. He felt like they were sharing some sappy love scene from a movie, but it was a nice feeling anyway. Or maybe he was feeling a little motherly? Which was probably a bad feeling to have when they kept kissing.
Well Kenya was worried, especially since he wanted to be popular and well liked. Of course, the teasing only left Kenya pouting at him, waiting for whatever reply was going to come. He'd actually braced himself too, in case it was actually going to hurt or something - it was no wonder he looked surprised when Shiraishi only complemented him instead. "O-oh..." The hand on his face was kind of nice too actually, enough that Kenya leaned into it and rubbed his cheek there a little.
"You are too." He tilted his head slightly to kind of half-kiss, half just graze his lips against Shiraishi's palm. "In case you didn't know." Despite that making him only more flustered, he gave his best friend a warm smile. Honestly? It really was like some sappy love scene from a movie - and Kenya really didn't like those kind of movies that much - but right then it felt perfectly fine to.
Oh, he didn't know but it was nice to hear, if only because Kenya said it. And because the vibe in the room was a lovely calm that only seemed to make the buchou much more sleepy and relaxed. Or maybe that was the semi-kiss Kenya gave to his palm that really did the trick? That had a nice feeling to it that warmed him nicely, right in the core of his chest and spread outward over his body. That was contentment, right?
"We're getting close to dawn, but I don't know if I can make it now." Shiraishi said after a moment, raising his free hand to yawn into the back of his palm. When he opened his eyes again, they were a little cloudy and muddled by his drowsiness and he had to force his eyes open to clear them.
A smug grin spread across Kenya's face when he saw and realised just how sleepy Shiraishi was actually getting. "Does that mean I win?" He did settle down against him though so they could sleep if Shiraishi wanted to. It seemed like it, if that yawn was anything to go by. He did try and sneak a mini nuzzle against the other teen's shoulder though, just to add to the little snuggling session they had going on. It was all pretty darn comfortable after all. Kenya wasn't sure how well he was going to sleep at first, but really if Shiraishi fell asleep he'd probably conk out afterwards out of boredom.
"Just go to sleep though if you're tired. Can always try again some other time." Which made perfect sense really, neither of them were going anywhere for a long time.
"Sure it does." Shiraishi replied, sleep already coming into his voice, making it a little lower as well as groggy sounding. He rested his cheek against the top of Kenya's head, inhaling the younger teen's scent. Kenya smelled like shampoo and some kind of boyish musk that made him smile like some idiotic lovesick youth. He might be inclined to think that's exactly what he was, if not for the fact that he didn't think it was love yet. They were too young for that kind of thing, right? That, and they were still just friends... albeit snuggly, dating, kissing kind of friends.
Hmm. Maybe they should discuss that more in detail sometime.
Tightening his grip on his best friend, he let his eyes stay closed instead of trying to blink them back open. It was easier to just let himself go that way. "Yeah, I guess we can. Maybe next time we'll both make it."
"Mm," Kenya hummed the noise out, glancing up without moving his head as he found himself like he'd been in the cinema, going tense because he didn't want to move for once. He didn't really care either actually, he was rather happy there with the other - snuggled close as they were. "Maybe we will." Now Shiraishi was making him drowsy, he yawned a little himself and breathed in the other as well. To end up snuggling even more and as Shiraishi was already so out of it, he did actually properly drape himself over his best friend now, curling his leg over him as well to hug him kind of like a big teddy bear.
Hopefully Shiraishi wouldn't remember that and would think he did it in his sleep - at least this way he was somewhat stretching out though.
Shiraishi gave a little sound as Kenya began to snuggle him. He was already well under way of being asleep, so fortunate for Kenya that he may not remember it at all. Either way, he was very comfy, very warm, and felt very happy. Though he may not feel the same in the morning when he woke up stiff from not having done yoga in several days. But small sacrifices were made to feel this nice with someone he liked. That liked him in return. Aww.
And thus... the older teen now was fully asleep, his breaths shallow and body relaxed.
Kenya smiled sleepily when no sound of protest came, and considering how tired Shiraishi had sounded it seemed like he was going to get away without being teased. Slowly he let his eyes flutter shut. He did however tilt his head to give Shiraishi's shoulder a tiny kiss before he let himself get comfortable again.
Once his own breathing slowed, Kenya drowsily found himself falling asleep anyway... just as sunlight started to filter through the window. He was pretty proud about that, even if his eyes couldn't open to actual look at it.
Ah well, next time he'd make it. Hell, they'd make it, and that thought gave Kenya enough happiness and warmth to fall asleep to lovely dreams, utterly content with how the evening had gone.
