[Log] Kenya and Shiraishi As he'd thought before, Shiraishi was starting to think it again. That journal idea was quite possibly his worst and best idea ever. He'd been thoroughly amused for quite a while, talking with his teammates but now... it came onto much more serious things. Did Kenya like him? It both worried and intrigued him. His best friend was, undeniably so, a very good looking boy. They'd also known each other a very long time, and he knew that sometimes the lines looked blurred. But that was just their friendship.
So, that was quite possibly the very reason as to why he decided to leave his comment turn unreplied to. He knew that it would probably unnerve Kenya, but he would absolutely rather talk about them in person. So, instead he'd snuck out his own bedroom window and climbed down the tree just outside. From there, he briskly walked toward Kenya's house a couple blocks away.
Once he was outside, however, it was hard for him to get his nerves up to approach his best friend.
"Shiraishi Kuranosuke, don't be a chicken." He chided himself softly and took a deep breath in. Agilly, he jumped over the small gate in the front, not wanting to make much of a sound in case he woke Kenya's family up in this rather stupid adventure. Though, climbing up the trellace proved a little harder than he'd figured, and Shiraishi nearly fell off at least once before he finally made it to Kenya's window. Where he tapped. Rather loudly, too. "Kenya!" He stage whispered.
Kenya, himself, felt like he was hyperventilating. At least, in a sense. He had no idea where any of the came from... and he wasn't sure he wanted to know. He just kind of... didn't get it all. Sure he'd protested a lot, and was pretty much blushing to death right then, but it didn't mean anything! Nothing at all, nada! etc. Or at least that was what he was telling himself so far, at least. Pouting because of all the attention he seemed to have gathered for himself again (not to mention Shiraishi was taking it all far too seriously too) he curled up on his bed, laptop set out in front of him.
He'd actually tugged his jacket up like in his icon too, kind of a 'just in case his mother walked in', reaction. So far though, she wasn't going anywhere near his door. He sighed when the comments all stopped, far too nervous and fidgety now and did that mean he had to wait now?
Oshitari Kenya did not do waiting.
He chewed on his lip and opened up something else to distract himself, kind of hoping the irritation and embarassment would pass soon. Of course, that's when Shiraishi finally made it to his window and gave him a heart attack. He yelped and almost fell off his bed. In fact, once he'd calmed down enough to notice who it was he ended up tripping off the bed to open the window for him. "You scared me to death!" And yes, Shiraishi, you're getting a swat for that once you're in his room and not hanging outside his window.
Shiraishi chuckled softly from just outside the window. There was never any denying it that he was just like Yuushi in how he took enjoyment out of watching Kenya flail around and squirm. His best friend was just so adorable doing it. Of course, the scene he'd only moments before witnessed was... much cuter. Kenya might have to stop lifting his shirt to his face like that - he looked too much like a little kid. Which absolutely didn't help matters at all.
Climbing into Kenya's room allowed him to distract his mind from the task at hand, though. Which he was oddly not so nervous about anymore, now that he saw his best friend and how utterly jumpy he was.
"You're going to make your mom come if you keep making noise." Shiraishi was pretty sure that neither of them would really want that. Especially now. However, he did chuckle softly again when he was swatted at and rubbed the spot, lips down turning into a slight pout.
Oh, but he was still sulking. He probably would be for a while too, especially since now he's going to rub his knee as he'd hit it on the table mid-fall. At least he shut up though, even if it was with a bit of a grumble. He also put his laptop on sleep and put it over on his desk. "I know, I know..." he sighed and chewed on his lip, "it'd be easier if you hadn't made me jump though." At least his mother hadn't come to check up on him, though. He shoved his hands in his jeans pockets, shoulders hunching up and kind of... looked to the side of Shiraishi's head.
"You can't say you didn't deserve that." Of course he meant the swat, that was probably pretty obvious. He did scoot back onto his bed though, mainly so his legs would kind of... stop shaking-ish. Nothing noticable, but he could feel them going a little weak with how awkward he felt. "D'ya want anything to drink? Or uh... sit down or...?" He trailed off, because he expected this to come tomorrow. Not late at night! He slid a hand through his hair, ruffling it up a bit - at least then he could look his best friend in the eye properly.
Sliding his shoes off, the tennis Buchou toed them into a nice position just under the window so he didn't traipse dirt into Kenya's room. "Not denying it. Would say by now I deserve a lot more, actually."
Despite the fact he couldn't see his best friend's legs getting weak, he could tell just how nervous he was. Kenya tended to babble when he got nervous from experience, that was what he was doing now. It made him smile just a little as he came to rest on his friend's bed beside him, turning enough so he was facing him. The question now was, should he be blunt and ask Kenya what he was thinking and concerned over, or should be be a little more delicate with the matter?
"Just to talk, Kenya. I'm a little concerned..."
"Probably, though I think after listening to Chitose for a while you get used to the 'no violence' policy." He leaned forward a little, resting his elbows on his knees and looked in the opposite direction, and actually he's going to carry on with that line of thought, that way he didn't need to worry about what was going to come any moment. "So it only makes sense you don't get hit enough, right? Maybe I should make a habit of it..."
How much could he ramble about that anyway? It was slowly becoming painfully obvious he wasn't going to get away with now talking about this, was he? He kicked his feet out, watching his socks and slippers for a moment before just letting them drop. He pouted slightly, feeling his face slowly heat up again. "There's nothing to be concerned about, Kura." He knew that wouldn't really do anything though, his best friend had actually snuck out to talk about this, obviously he found it too important to wait.
His stomach went all weird and twisty with nerves.
While Kenya had a good point, he hummed softly as a response to everything his best friend had said, instead of putting his two cents in. Now that they were there sort of talking about it, Shiraishi realized he hadn't thought of how to express his own thoughts and feelings on the matter. Like how his own stomach tightened and seemed to drop when Kenya kept saying that he didn't like him. Or that it was kind of a let down to hear in the first place.
But the thing he did know was that he was concerned for their friendship. They'd known each other for far too long to really get awkward in front of each other for long stretches of time.
"Are you sure? Because that's the second time you've been like that about my icons." Nothing they hadn't talked about on the journals already, really. But then his voice came out softer and he surveyed Kenya's face to see what lies he may be hiding or if he even was. Kenya couldn't lie for squat. "It makes me think you have a crush on me. Which I'm not apposed to or anything, but I'd rather not hear a flat out denial if it's your first reaction to it."
Sadly, Shiraishi didn't know what he was even saying either, or that it sounded like he might be put out by a flat out rejection.
Kenya's hands shifted to pluck at his jeans then, only peeking at him while he spoke. He really was terrible at hiding things - even if the first thing that came out of his mouth was a flat out denial of it all. "I'm positi-!" He cut off though when Shiraishi kept speaking, something akin to guilt just showing everywhere because of that. With a pout, he looked away, pulling his knees up to prop his chin on them.
He... wasn't sure how to answer any of that though, so he just mumbled something under his breath, blaming those icons for everything right then. He rubbed at his eyes and finally leaned back to rest against the wall, still pouting and all - hell the blush had gotten worse too (as had the waves of irritation to have to talk about it, but that was another thing entirely) - but he didn't say anything else for a moment, trying to scramble up some semblance of an answer.
He didn't really... say anything though, just kind of sulked about it all, he didn't want to talk about this. He just wanted them to go back to being awesome best friends.
If he would have heard Kenya's thoughts, Shiraishi would certainly protest to the fact that they weren't still awesome best friends. Though, perhaps, it was selfish to want to clear the air on the matter. Make it acknowledged one way or the other so they could get on with things. If Kenya did have a crush on him, he wasn't sure what he would be repaired to do, though. The thought of giving it a try didn't sound terrible, and if all else failed at least they would know each other well enough to not ruin a good friendship.
But the lack of answer made Shiraishi's own nervousness rise. Flopping back on the bed, he stare at the ceiling for a moment, hair fanning just slightly against the sheets.
"Shanai wa." He turned his head to flash a smile at Kenya. "Did you want to see those splotches, now? We'd have to match yours up somewhat for Monday."
Well Kenya wouldn't deny that, but he'd much rather just... forget this whole ordeal, really. He glanced at him when he flopped back on the back, nudging him with a pillow as he plucked it up to hug it, pressing his chin on top of it. He did laugh at that though, knowing instantly where that came from. Poor Hikaru, he was never going to stop being teased for that phrase.
He swallowed then just... latched onto the new topic, sending him a grin - obviously stupidly not realising they probably weren't somewhere that was going to be that easy to switch to after that talk. "What did you use for the mix, anyway?" He peered at him curiously, finally shifting to sit and face him, calming down a little. Well, a lot actually. He just... hoped they wouldn't be sticky or something, Shiraishi had to bear in mind his father was a doctor, it wasn't going to be so easy for him to get out of it... maybe if they went to school and got sent home...?
"Just food coloring and syrup like in the movies." Honestly, Shiraishi was glad that Kenya seemed to start coming out of his shell already. Talking to him in it was hard.
Reaching down to his shirt, he lifted the corner up to show a splotch of still-pink skin from where the syrup left a stain on him. It was on his nicely toned stomach, and there were several small splotches that marred it, but otherwise it was pristine pale skin all around. Casually, he played with the splotch as he leaned up a bit to look down at his stomach. "I've taken a couple showers already and it's still pretty prominent."
"Uh huh," Kenya snorted a little at that, figuring it'd be something like that. The idea of syrup though made him pull a face though. He was just lucky Kenya was dense enough that it didn't click there was skin on show, mainly because the fake blood was much more fascinating. "Is it sticky?" he glanced back up at his face after peeking at the splotches, kind of curious to how this would work. "I mean, my dad'd know, so I guess I'm just going to have to... fake something." He deadpanned slightly, unsure of how to get it to work, but he was much more relaxed now.
So much even, that he didn't even think twice when he prodded the patch. Huh. Okay, so that might work. Though he wasn't sure how to keep the stain there and get rid of the syrup. And now he was stuck with a silly thinking face as he tried to work out the best way to do it.
Though, it could still work though. Hopefully...
Biting his lower lip, the Buchou fought the desire to laugh at his best friend poking him in an apparently ticklish spot. Kenya might be prompted to exact revenge by way of purposefully tickling him. That... wasn't something he wanted at all. So, he said nothing for a moment and only focused on making plans for Monday.
"If we have to, we could always make it look worse." Actually, he could think of many ways already that would make them both look fairly sick. The question was more along the lines of what was believable with the splotches the way they looked. "Does your dad have a medical book where you can sneak and get it?"
For a second, Kenya gave him a sort of side eye, contemplating something. In fact, if Shiraishi looked closely enough he'd probably be able to see all the dusty cogs working in his head. "Hey, Kura..." he trailed off, poking him in that same spot again, and because of the hell he'd gone through earlier, he couldn't stop himself, he actually tried to tickle him this time.
In fact, he kind of half-cackled when he carried on talking. "I can sneak into his office if you need me to." That wouldn't be difficult at all, as long as his father didn't see him sneaking it out or questioning him why he'd used the medical dictionary, he had enough pressure to be a doctor as it was.
The very moment that Kenya uttered his name so threateningly, Shiraishi began to worry. Then, he in fact, got tickled and he couldn't bite his lip quick enough to cover up a laugh. That laugh quickly became a dirty look as he swatted his best friend's hand away and leaned up on his elbow, not really caring if his stomach was still showing. "Don't do that, ahou."
With his other hand, he knocked it lightly against Kenya's head and began to smile again. "The medical book might be more useful than us brainstorming to see what would get us out of school for a day. But we'd have to make sure whatever we look for is convincing and only lasts 24 hours."
Which meant... they had to be absolutely careful not to get caught. Otherwise their efforts would go to waste.
"Ow," he didn't really mean that at all though, and without thinking his fingers just kind of danced across his best friends skin anyway, pretty much full out grinning at him. "Don't do what?" And yes, he was trying to play innocent, even if he was half distracted by the talk about how to pretend they were ill on Monday.
He did pause in the tickling for a second though, as he tried to think. "Do I need to go get it now, then?" That would be more difficult than he'd hoped, but Monday wasn't too far away... right? Uh. Maybe he should...? He eyed his desk for a moment, completely forgetting that he was supposed to be tickling Shiraishi right then. Oops.
When Kenya began tickling him again, he honestly started sounding like a little kid, his laugh sounding more like a giggle than anything that was more his age. It made him feel silly and helpless, but he was grateful when those impish fingers began to waver from their task, and he used the distraction to exact revenge. With the reflexes given to him by sports, he wiggled around enough so that he could get at his best friend's sides.
Shiraishi's own long fingers began to attempt his own version of a tickle, and he was just hoping that Kenya wouldn't bother with a war because he wasn't sure they wouldn't get caught if the laughed so much. "Don't leave yourself so open, Kenya~"
Of course, he suddenly yelped when their positions changed and he was being tickled. He squirmed and pushed at Shiraishi's hands with one hand, the other moving to his mouth to shut himself up. He wasn't as awesome at keeping quiet, so the laughs just bubbled out instantly, enough to make him choke on it, actually.
"Was-" he had to pause though, wiggling even more as he tried to remember how to think and retaliate, "thinking-!" Of course that wasn't exactly the best reasoning, but it did take a while for the dear boy to think things through. He was kind of dense about everything, needless to say things like stealing his father's medical dictionary was one of those things. In fact, he was squirming a little too much and almost fell off the bed, having to use the hand that was trying to push Shiraishi's off to stay on it. His mother would wonder what the hell was going on otherwise - cue him trying to push Shiraishi away with his feet instead, though really it could just get worse if his best friend didn't stop.
Oh, no. Kenya was not getting away from him so easily. He evaded his best friend's feet by sitting up and climbing over him, his own expression a mask of pure evil amusement. Especially as he just... kept trying to tickle the other teen.
"You were leaving yourself open in the middle of tickling me." Shiraishi chuckled softly. "You think I wasn't going to return the favor?"
Oh, and indeed he was. But he was also hovering over Kenya as he tried to keep his balance-challenged friend from hitting the floor. Damn, he was adorable.
No no no no no-! Kenya flailed slightly and twisted as he tried to breathe, nevermind stop laughing. He bit down onto his hand, his other hand trying to push Shiraishi away still - not like it was working. He gasped for air every so often, flailing and twisting and actually arching to just try and get him to stop. He let out a muffled noise of protest, choking again for a second as he managed to work air into his lung again only to keep laughing.
His attempts to stop him didn't seem to be working either. Damn it. "Y'... deserved... it-" he gasped each word out, each accented with a short burst of laughter. He really had to hope that his mother wouldn't hear of their plan for monday really would be screwed.
Seeing just how devastating the tickling was on Kenya, Shiraishi was satisfied entirely. Finally, he stopped so he could let his poor best friend actually breath. However, Kenya did have an argument - Shiraishi actually did deserve it, where as he'd already been put through hell once within the week.
Which was why he just let his hand rest on Kenya's side as he wickedly grinned down at him. "Guess you still haven't learned that I'm evil after all these years." His voice dropped down to a seductive note that he hadn't realized actually sounded seductive. "Never let your guard down, Speedy."
It took a few moments of panting for air for Kenya to get his breath back, but he did let out another softer and weaker chuckle at Shiraishi's comment. He'd closed his eyes when he was still working for air, so when he opened them and there Shiraishi was, over him, hand still on his side and talking like that - a look of a deer caught in the headlights came over his face and he actually jerked in surprise.
Maybe he should have been honest and told him that sometimes, sometimes he did wonder because moments like t-that... He forced out a laugh, eyes averting on instinct and could he please just crawl away now...? He even forgot everything that had been said because Shiraishi's tone of voice had been that distracting. Not a good sign, really, if he actually wanted to forget everything that had happened earlier.
When Kenya jerked, Shiraishi was surprised by the action. His brows knit together as he cocked his head in curiosity. Removing the hand at Kenya's side, he brought it up to his friend's face and checked to see if he was alright, palm gently cupped against his cheek. It didn't seem like he'd blown a gasket, so something else had to be wrong...
"Hey, are you okay?" The Buchou asked, voice softening to sound almost like a purr with concern thrown in the mix.
"..." His eyes flickered back up to him at that and god nothing made sense. He felt conflicted and ... it just didn't make sense. "M'fine." He muttered the words out though, though it was possible he'd shuddered then as well, he just... really hoped he didn't. Thinking it would be easier, he just sighed and shut his eyes, unsure of what to do with the hand on his face, so he just pretended to bite it for a moment, hoping that if he at least pretended to be playful it'd all be forgotten.
"At least you're letting me breathe now," he laughed though really it was obviously forced. He hated his inability to lie right then, seriously, the last thing he wanted was for this to turn awkward which is why he'd made himself forget but... Damn it, Kura.
Frankly, the reactions he was getting took him by surprise. Did... Kenya shudder? Shiraishi blinked down at his friend as he closed his eyes, using the time to really look at him. Actually, he should probably move from on top of him but it was actually kind of comfortable. Well, in one of those ways he had to keep from resting weight on the body below him, anyway.
Maybe now was a time to test Zaizen's teases? The whole reason he'd even come over was to see if Kenya liked him, and it appeared he was in the best position (literally) to find out. Which... kind of made his heart race like it usually did during practice. Swallowing his own bout of nervousness, he leaned down to press his own lips against Kenya's. To his surprise, they were a lot softer than they looked.
He'd actually managed to semi-calm down now he was breathing properly and his eyes were shut. Even while there was a bit of an extra weight on top of him, that part didn't really bother him as much as it should have. What he didn't expect, however, was what came next. His eyes snapped open again and a tiny gasp kind of shot out of him and kdsjngkjnkjnfgkj-- what was he doing?! Now he couldn't even think. In fact, he pushed his hands up to try and get Shiraishi to move back so he could question him, but they kind of just clung to his shirt instead, shaking because dgkjfwhatwhatwhat-
And his heart actually ached with how fast it was beating. His stomach twisted uncomfortably and it felt... weird but... He kind of froze, and that conflicted look crossed his face again, much more pronounced this time because really, he had no idea what he felt. Shiraishi had been right earlier when he'd thought their friendship blurred sometimes, but it still felt fine so this was just...
He didn't know how to explain it.
He just knew he didn't know what to do with it now he really had no chance but to answer, so he just let his lips ... t-twitch slightly against Shiraishi's, kind of hoping he'd look back at him and see he really didn't know what was going on.
Well, Shiraishi knew to expect Kenya to freeze up at the very least. It wasn't every day that your best friend decided to kiss you, after all. But he was also unsure of what exactly to do and what everything meant. Did Kenya mean to force him away or keep him there? It felt like he'd tried to resist but he'd never kissed anyone before and this was all new territory. At least he knew the gasp had meant shock?
Instead of like Kenya was hoping, though, he chose to try and move his lips against his friend's. It was an unsure movement on his part as well, but he'd sadly interpenetrated the twitching of Kenya's lips as him trying to kiss back rather than anything. Maybe he was just foolish, though.
His eyes twitched for a moment before just shutting and he paused, trying to get his heart to stop aching and thudding and could Shiraishi actually feel that? He kind of... hoped he couldn't. He was just lucky that he couldn't feel his stomach twisting. He could, however, catch the way his hands clenched, torn between pulling him closer and pushing him away still. Shiraishi was possibly... lucky, though, as the latter never happened, and one of his hands actually slipped to grip at his shirt at his side.
His lips twitched again and for a second he accidentally slid his teeth against Shiraishi's lip, obviously just as clueless. It didn't help there was a literal 'dkjgngnj' going around in his head non-stop either. It also didn't help that all the blood in his body seemed to be rushing into his face, neck and ears - turning his skin pinker with embarrassment, excitement something or other anyway.
No, he couldn't feel Kenya's heart thundering, because his own was racing just as much. Shiraishi wouldn't have been able to tell the difference at all. And while his best friend was keyboard smashing in his head, Shiraishi's mind was filled more or less with 'so this is what it's like to kiss', 'so this is what it's like to kiss Kenya', and '...h- wow that felt good'. His mid-thought, had been at Kenya's taste, but obviously it was cut off when he felt the brush of teeth against his lips.
Thinking he should return the favor, he took Kenya's bottom lip between his own and sucked on it gently, his own hand sliding down onto the mattress below. From there, he slowly sunk down to rest against his best friend's body, thinking it'd make things easier if they were going to... well, it seemed like they were going to make out. Maybe he should be tactless and lack the romance enough to ask?
"Still say 'no'?"
He really did shudder this time though, and even he couldn't deny that because it was weird and there and hey, this wasn't really... all that bad. More than that, actually. It was, dare he think it, nice? Really... nice. His lips just parted when Shiraishi's sucked on his lower lip and his arm curled up over his best friend's waist, dragging his shirt with it. Of course, that's when the awkward moment was ruined and a laugh bubbled up before he could stop it.
"...No." Which was the ironic answer, really. And now he was going to babble some, because he didn't quite get it but... maybe if he explained it? "I don't really know but... s-sometimes it feels like..." he shrugged for a second, pulling his lip into his mouth as he tried to work it. "Like I do, then there are times I just think we're just really close so it doesn't matter." He eyed him kind of curiously, trying to not actually shake from nerves or something. "What... about you?" And while Shiraishi had been the one to kiss him, he still had no idea about what he was thinking. Maybe he should have just asked him? Who knew.
That was the decisive question, really. Shiraishi also had no idea. His basic thought pattern mimicked Kenya's on how they were just really close, and the lines blurred once in a while. Well, he did sometimes consciously know he was flirting with Kenya. Sometimes on purpose just to get a rise out of him, and sometimes just because he wanted to. He hadn't thought about it, really. But Shiraishi would acknowledge that when Zaizen had come in, and Kenya protested so adamantly, he'd felt... put out. Like he'd been on the top floor of a building, and the flooring had fallen out from under him.
Unfortunately answering the question aloud was a lot more... well, his chest was tighter and he didn't want to admit it. But being that it was Kenya, it would probably be okay. Not only that, obviously Kenya had, had enough courage to answer him. Especially given how they'd been kissing only moments before. Which made him feel silly for not wanting to say so.
"I think so." Shiraishi answered honestly, his own form of blush making its way to his cheeks. He didn't blush easily, either. "I usually don't think about it, but there are sometimes that I actually go out of my way to flirt with you."
It took Kenya a while to realize he was kind of... half holding his breath as he waited for an answer. Any answer really. Yes, no, anything so when Shiraishi started talking he let out a slow breath, the tension kind of just leaving his body. And then he was kind of... stunned. "O-oh..." He hasn't quite expected that, most of the time he figured it was just because he was easy to tease - exactly like Yuushi had said. But. Oh.
Oh in the kind of 'Oh wow' kind of sense too, because that felt sort of... special, now he knew. Though he wasn't sure if all the embarrassment and flailing he'd gone through to get to this understanding was quite fair. He was willing to live with that, though, at least for that moment as he became fascinated with the colour tinting the other's face for once. In fact, the arm that wasn't doing anything moved to touch it curiously, his brain wasn't quite catching up yet, so one thing at a time. Now it was the blush's turn. "Kura." His lips twitching, kind of smiling, though it was half flustered and half sheepish but- "You're blushing."
He let his hand kind of... slide down a little then, fingertips lightly tracing over Shiraishi's lower lip before he just curled that arm around the back of his neck too and God why couldn't he think faster. He was getting impatient with himself. He wasn't sure what else to ask after that though, as he wasn't sure what they were supposed to do with this ...new information.
'No duh, Kenya' came to Shiraishi's mind when his blush was pointed out. He could feel the heat in his cheeks, and it made Kenya's fingers feel cooler to the touch than he was sure they really felt. But as soon as he felt the fingers on his cheeks and lips, they were gone and Kenya just... stared at him.
...Was this another moment for a kiss? Those kinds of things had a time, didn't they? It obviously wasn't a terrible thing, and neither of them disliked it. And, in fact, if he was thinking in the right sense they... at least found out that they liked each other. Which, honestly, was a very good feeling. What confused the Buchou, however, was also what they were supposed to do with it. It meant they should start... dating?
Honestly, it was no wonder it was frustrating. They were still only in junior high and probably shouldn't even be thinking about this stuff with Tennis on their brains constantly. But there they were.
"Kenya, you're staring." Shiraishi chuckled softly. "So either we should kiss again, or you get the medical book so we have all Monday for it."
"Mmm," yes, Kenya was aware of that, he wasn't quite that slow. He was, however, impatient. And considering he was starting to get a similar line of thought as Shiraishi was he was pretty glad that the other actually brought it up. "Or both." He flashed him a smile, and really, he wasn't going anywhere while Shiraishi was on top of him, now was he? So that was going to have to be his choice. In fact... he lightly flicked him on the forehead for that. "Considering where you are, I'd say you should kiss me again first."
Oh, wow, though. Blurting that out took more courage than he thought, as he just let out a nervous laugh afterwards. He just figured they should... deal with now... for the moment. As much as he'd love to have a final answer right now, he had no idea how to make that kind of decision right off the bat.
Maybe, anyway.
The blush that had come over his cheeks was now completely gone, as he reached up to rub his forehead and frown at his best friend. What the hell, Kenya? Then again, now that he seemed to take in his surroundings a bit better and remembered exactly where he was (how could he even forget? Thanks, Kenya!), he let out his own sheepish laugh.
"Hmm, I don't know." Shiraishi began to poke his best friend's chest, then, as if he were preparing a pillow. "You make a better bed than a pillow, so you we may just to skip to sleeping with each other."
Yes well, he was trying to prove his point. It seemed to work in the general sense though, because Shiraishi seemed to get the message of where he was. He did actually splutter at what he said next though, and even if the poking made him wiggle a little, the comment seemed to affect him ten times more - even if he knew he meant just... sleeping. "Kura!" And now Shiraishi was going to get pinched for that, partly because he was running out of options to get his own back, and he didn't really want to disrupt how they were laid out - it was pretty comfortable.
The only problem was, this was him and now he was blushing like a maniac and it probably wouldn't go down again until he calmed down again.
Shiraishi lifted his hand swiftly and pressed it over Kenya's mouth, afraid that his mother was going to finally get fed up of all the noise her son was making and find them... well. In the position they were in. Which would look positively like it was, and even Shiraishi didn't have much of an explanation for it, and he was pretty smooth when he wanted to be. Clearly, he couldn't say he tripped because he wasn't even supposed to be there in the first place, and they were far too comfortable for something so clumsy. Not to mention he was resting atop Kenya. Shiraishi wasn't a klutz.
"Shh!" He stage whispered, a look of paranoia crossing his own features. "We're going to get found out if you're not quieter."
His own eyes glanced towards the door, and when no noises came from the other side he pouted against the hand over his mouth, sulking a little. Especially as it wasn't his fault Shiraishi obviously purposely did that. He did shush though, because while he did want to sulk about him trying to get a rise out of him on purpose, he also knew he was right. He just made a muffled 'Mmn' sound. In fact, he didn't have anything else to say to that anyway - he just wanted to get his point across that it wasn't fair.
Saying that, his best friend obviously wasn't playing fair this evening anyway.
Honestly? He didn't really play fair anything. He played Kintarou for his imagination, he played perfect tennis so people wouldn't beat him, and he exploited weaknesses in his best friend just to get a laugh. However harmless those all may be, it definitely didn't paint the picture that he was fair... or even nice sometimes, despite appearances. Even if he actually did care when it all boiled down.
Removing his hand, he placed it back on the bed so he could push himself up. Once again, his heart was racing in his chest as he kissed Kenya for the second time that night. This time, it was his reward for being quiet, rather than to find out what Kenya really thought.
Well, that was true. Kenya definitely couldn't deny that. And hey, despite all he might complain he didn't mind it that much. He wasn't really expecting that though when Shiraishi started to push himself up, but it was pretty welcomed. Extremely welcomed actually, if the way he responded was anything to go by. His stomach flipped again, and his hand reached to clutch at Shiraishi's back. A tiny noise was muffled thanks to said kiss, but Kenya didn't really try to much to stop it from coming out anyway.
He figured it might help Shiraishi know that he kind of actually likes that. Quite a bit actually. ...Even if it make his hands shake again with nerves again. Something that was beginning to annoy him, but there wasn't much he could do about it either.
It would be quite a long time before they got anywhere near naughty, he was sure, but if Kenya shook as much then as he did now, things would get interesting fast.
Shiraishi laughed at his own thoughts, claiming the seat of team pervert just as much as Kenya said. But there was no reason for his best friend to what he was thinking, because he really didn't want him to draw attention to them because of his big mouth. Which Shiraishi was gladly kissing. Even if a moment later he pulled away and turned to flop down on the bed next to said best friend.
"Go get the book." He adjusted himself to get comfortable, smiling at Kenya then. "We have a lot of research to do before Monday, and we still have to brainstorm what to take on the picnic. Hope you got room in bed for two?"
Yes, seriously, Kenya was most likely going to keep pinning that title on his best friend anyway. Even Chitose had agreed, so there was no way he wasn't going to get away with it now.
He did pout though when Shiraishi pulled away and pushed himself up to sit up. "Sure, sure. I'll need to sneak though, so bear with m-" of course that went wrong when he kind of half went to stand up and half tripped up thanks to the question helpfully tacked onto the end. He was just lucky Shiraishi couldn't see his bright red face, really. "As long as you don't take up too much room." And yes, he did glance back at him for that before he dimmed the lights a little. "Now pretend you don't exist while I go get the book, just in case my mother comes in to check I'm asleep." If it weren't for the fact that he didn't have a task to do (get the book) Kenya probably would have spent a while flailing over that question though.
Plus, the idea of hugging him rather than his pillow was quite a nice idea.
"Hai, hai." Shiraishi waved, laying as flat as he could against the bed. Though, it wasn't like he was small, so undoubtedly even if Kenya's mom came in to check on him, she'd notice Shiraishi laying there. Which, if she found him sneaking around out there, the jig would be up and he'd have to... probably either go home or sleep on the couch. And much like his best friend, his line of thought was snuggling as well, which was very appealing considering how comfortable they'd been before.
Though, with how everything had been earlier, now that he was getting calmer and slipping into a new comfortable zone, Shiraishi found his eyelids were a lot more heavy. It might be a miracle if he were still awake by the time Kenya got there, considering they were closing and he was getting more relaxed.
Oh look... there he went, off to lala land.
Kenya blinked when he came back to find Shiraishi already asleep on his bed, and for a second, something about that made his heart skip a few beats. Quietly, he changed into some pyjamas though, mainly so he wouldn't try and get breakfast for them in jeans while still looking half asleep. Something along those lines, anyway. He put the book on his desk and clicked the lock on his door so his mother, or hell, his brother wouldn't walk in on them.
That lead to him crawling back onto his bed then, shuffling the covers around before pulling them over them both. He wiggled closer, finally letting his arm slide over him and he tucked his head under his chin. Sure, he was shaking slightly at first as it was kind of weird but... He couldn't help but smile to himself as he snuggled in close - body half draped over his best friend's as he started to drift off into sleep himself.
