"Running didn't end well for them," she replied, tilting her head in amusement as she gestured towards the two who were still suffering under her cruciatus and the entrail-less woman. "I am trying to see how long they can retain consciousness. Research project," she explained, as if this were a perfectly normal curiosity. But for them, it was. She had always wanted to know if it was possible to kill someone with the cruciatus alone, or if not, just how much damage could be done and this seemed like as good of an opportunity as any to test that.
"But most of them seem to prefer hiding in their houses. Which might make sense if they weren't on fire..." She shrugged and pointed her wand at another house where someone was clearly trying to peer out through the curtains, hoping not to be noticed. She blasted the door off and aimed another incendio straight through to the back of the house, sending the occupants fleeing out the now non-existent door. If Rodolphus wanted a chase, she figured the least she could do was give one to him.
It was rather strange how few of them were running and if Bellatrix had thought about it she might have realised that going into the forest at night was simply not done among these people who lived in fear of the vampires surrounding them. But she didn't particularly care about whatever internal dilemmas the Muggles were facing over their own survival.
Blasting the entire front of the next house, Bellatrix could not help but laugh at the stunned faces of the Muggles inside. One was set on fire and another received a particularly nasty blasting hex straight to the chest that ripped him almost completely apart, all before either of them could even think to run. She left the woman alone (for now) as she had just fallen to the ground of her own volition and was alternately screaming in terror and sobbing over her now-dead relatives in a way that Bella found terribly amusing.
