Beauty was pain. It was a lesson girls learned early, and they could choose to do what had to be done to conform or they could be on the fringes of what every high school girl desired. It was bullshit, but it was what it was. Sera didn't waste her time whining that it wasn't fair: she wore the shoes, got her eyebrows threaded, bought the designer clothes.
"It's Homecoming," she agreed as he began to explain his presence here. "Sometimes it's fun to make new friends." She giggled, something she did when she was drunk more than any other time ever. After taking a few seconds to consider his question, she added, "Music, beer. There might be a fight. Rumors and innuendo." Her eyebrows waggled. "People will fool around in dark corners." Typical high school party.
