Re: Sebastian and Hunter
Sebastian couldn’t think about what it felt like to have guys close to him. He couldn’t or it would drive him crazy. He spent too much time with them on and off the field, in the damn locker room, that it had become a matter of survival. Don’t ask, don’t tell, and for fuck’s sake don’t look. He wasn’t immune though. And drinking let his guard down. So when he earned a little laugh from Hunter, he found himself smiling, his stomach doing a little flip. “Whatever’s pretty broad,” he grinned. “I could make you a drink. Or a shot. Or both. Sweet. Sour. Salty.” He laughed, leaning in towards Hunter as he lowered his voice, meeting his eyes. “Do you trust me?”
The sensible thing to say would be no, because Hunter didn't know Sebastian at all. He knew he'd dated Jules and they were still on friendly terms but that was it for his knowledge of Sebastian McCarthy. But the way he asked and the way he looked at Hunter was absolutely disarming so yes, he felt compelled to trust him. Even if Sebastian made him something gross to drink, he'd drink it. "I trust you," he murmured with a little twist of his lips that said he probably shouldn't and the fact amused him but how could he refuse. Everyone knew he was gay so guys didn't often get this chummy with him, preferring to keep things cordial but not very physical in case he might interpret it wrongly. Like he was tempted to do now.
“Good,” Sebastian grinned, biting down on his bottom lip as he began to raid the liquor cabinet and make Hunter a drink. “I do this thing where I get into something and I obsess about it. I have to learn everything about it, like-- like locks, or phobias, or mixed drinks. This summer it was mixed drinks,” he said as he poured one shot into a glass, then another. Then some soda and a little cherry juice. The result was a bright pink drink, something he knew girls liked, but he was rather fond of himself. He then proceeded to make a quick shot and set them both down in front of Hunter. “Lemon drop,” he said, pointing to the shot. “And-- And a sweet-tart thing from King Sebastian. It doesn’t have a name. It’s a work in progress.” But it was good. They both were, though suddenly he was worried Hunter wouldn’t like them. They weren’t exactly guy drinks. He probably should have just make a Jack and Coke. “They’re good, I promise.”
Hunter had been expecting guy drinks. Even if Sebastian didn't make him something disgusting it always seemed like guys - especially drunk guys- needed to test either others' mettle. Try this super strong drink and try to take it like a man! He was pleasantly surprised by what he got instead and grinned at Sebastian after he tried the first one. "You need to name that one or I can't drink it," he joked as he picked up the second shot. "King Sebastian does have a cool ring to it if you can't think of anything."
“Oh my god, you’re gonna make me think?” Sebastian laughed, leaning back against the counter beside Hunter. “King Sebastian’s too long. Too many syllables. Um… Bastian-- Bash--B--Nope--Pink dream cherry fizz, I don’t know, I’m just saying words! How about Tart...Twister… Tease… T-T… Shit,” he snickered. “I’m bad at this. Very bad. And everything I come up with sounds super girly,” he admitted. It was pink, so that didn’t help. “Sweet-tart Twister maybe?”
Hunter was laughing through his fumbling with words, holding the drink and waiting for him to settle on something - anything! "That'll do," he all but purred because he was more than ready to try this drink by now. "I don't mind super girly," he tacked on before drinking the pink stuff, a pleased smile replacing his amused one. Yeah, it was good and he really appreciated the fact Sebastian had made him good shots. It was definitely a drunk thing, some guys just went all out being nice when they got drunk just like others got violent but it still warmed him inside to be on the receiving end of it. "You should make me another drink," he said and if his voice was a little flirty then who could blame him?
