Re: Sebastian and Hunter
Hunter was honestly surprised at that, but it definitely felt like he was making a new friend which was always welcome, even if he probably wasn't the most fun person to be around these days. It didn't feel like it mattered much at the moment though, that was the beauty of alcohol. Sebastian might need water, but Hunter definitely needed to get more drunk so he was good with going with Sebastian. He gulped down what remained in his cup before getting up. Everything Sebastian was doing was pinging his gaydar pretty hard, but he didn't know if it was wishful thinking or if Sebastian was something a little more than just straight. Either way Hunter liked him. He kept singing songs Hunter liked and he was friendly as hell. He'd even let Hunter wear his crown and still hadn't taken it back. If Hunter was a girl that'd be a clear sign he was being hit on, but things were a little more complicated when he was a gay guy in a small town. That didn't keep his heart from beating a little faster as he followed Sebastian, grinning at how he blushed at his own silly antics. If he blushed that easily at just singing... Yeah, that was a a thought Hunter did not need to indulge right now.
Sebastian wasn’t sure if Hunter would follow, but was pleased when he did, taking it as a sign that he was still a silly, fun drunk and not a stupidly wasted one. It was a fine line and one he didn’t want to cross. He led the way towards the kitchen, spinning when someone shouted out his name.
“McCarthy! Did’ya lose your crown?” Jake grinned, poking fun at his teammate as he passed by. He liked Sebastian, he was a good guy, but he was such a lightweight. Then again, Jake had a good fifty pounds on him.
“Noooo, it’s right here,” Sebastian said, draping an arm over Hunter’s shoulder as he pulled him in. “I’m sharing it with those who are worthy.” Really, Hunter was the only one he’d offered it to, but Jake didn’t need to know that.
“Can I wear it?” Jake asked, raising a brow. He could take it if he wanted to. Maybe. He was bigger, but Sebastian was faster, and he had no idea about the other guy. Not that he wanted it that bad, and tackling Sebastian off the field wouldn’t win him any points.
“Hmm,” Sebastian said, lips twisting as he gave Jake a look over as if he was actually considering it. He shared a look with Hunter, then grinned back at Jake. “Hard pass,” he teased, then gave Hunter’s shoulder a little squeeze before moving them on their way.
“Fuck you,” Jake laughed, going back to his beer and the girl at this side.
“Love you too, man,” Sebastian shouted back over his shoulder. His arm remained draped over Hunter until they stopped at the drink station and he pulled away to open a bottle of water for himself. “What’re you drinking?” He asked, willing to play bartender if Hunter would let him.
Hunter always liked to play it cool when it came to talking about hot guys and dating. He'd read a lot of stuff and he'd watched a lot of porn and he really did feel like he was pretty suave about the whole sex thing. Until he was actually faced with it that was, when it was real and right there, tangible in front of him. Like when Sebastian put his arm around him, his body did some very weird shaky little things at his core and he had a hard time with keeping his smile casual. He laughed at the exchange, feeling a little high when Sebastian didn't let go of him and god, that knowing look he gave him. Either his gaydar was seriously broken or Sebastian was not at all that straight. The thought of it alone... "Uhm," he murmured when Sebastian asked him what he wanted to drink, jolted back into having to use his brain and be present. "I had some vodka with soda and lime earlier. It was pretty good, but I'll drink whatever." There was a very mix of disappointment and relief when Sebastian let him go like his body already missed feeling another body up against it, but at the same time Hunter needed to remember to breathe.
