greg and jules - early in the evening
Her house was filling up quick and most people were congregated around the kitchen, passing around bottles of liquor and beer. Music was already playing and a lot of people had milled out into the backyard. It was a cool night, but no one seemed to mind, even the girls in their dresses. Alcohol and pot warmed the body, so there was that, she supposed. Jules had hung around with Jasper, finding it super weird but also really freeing that they could be… “out”. She had no idea how, or if, it would change things, but no one had given her any shit for it yet, so that was something. Maybe they all knew better. Jules could be fucking the school truant, but she could still make their lives miserable if she really wanted to. Jules felt untouchable.
After her second drink she’d needed to use the bathroom, so she left Jasper to do whatever it was he was going to do and headed upstairs to use the bathroom in her bedroom. She briefly considered changing into a more comfortable summer dress or something, but her homecoming dress was expensive and gorgeous and she wanted to get as much use out of it as she could. After washing her hands in her bathroom, Jules fixed her hair and straightened her tiara before leaving her bedroom and locking it behind her. She started down the hall to the steps when she spotted Greg in the hall, either on his way to the guest bathroom or leaving it. “Hey,” Jules said, since she couldn’t very well ignore Greg. He was Sebastian’s best friend, and Jules friend by association. But ugh, if he touched her tiara she was going to punch him in the balls. At least he didn’t have a girl he was trying to sneak into a bedroom. “Did you come with Sebastian?”
"Jules!" Greg exclaimed and closed the distance between them to give her a great big bear hug though on some level he was still mindful of her pretty dress. He knew damn well that rumpling her outfit on an important night was paramount to suicide. "Yeah I did! I stole your date!" he exclaimed with a little laugh. He had already been tipsy before he got to the party thanks to his smuggling skills and now he was happily drunk, his low inhibitions lowered even further. He honestly didn't know what he'd get back from her. A hug back or a smack? Neither would surprise him but at least Jules never hit him hard. It was more of a frustrated eye-roll kind of thwack on his arm if anything.
He let her go and couldn't resist bopping one of her curls because... curls! Why make that perfect kind of spring-like curl if it wasn't for bopping? "Or should I say Your Highness, I stole your king?" She had exchanged her king for a rogue and everyone was talking about it. Greg didn't really care, maybe Jasper Lucas needed a class act bitch queen to set him on the straight and narrow. Maybe Jules was really doing some community service just by giving him the time of day.
"Oh my god," Jules grumbled, wincing as Greg hugged her tight. Still, it was kind of nice even if she would rather her dress not get wrinkled. She could smell some of the alcohol on his breath, so she decided to forgive him as long as he didn't do anything super stupid. She placed her hand on his chest to push him back gently so she had space and when he finally released her, Jules immediately smoothed down her dress, front and back. "That's okay. You and Sebastian make a much cuter couple than he and I did." Jules couldn't help but reached up to make sure he hadn't tilted her tiara at all. She did roll her eyes a little but smiled. "You can totally call me your highness, but he's not my king. I mean, not in that way. You know what I mean. I heard you went to Homecoming with Heather. Is she here too?"
