Re: Ruby and Jules
Jules arched a brow but lifted one shoulder softly. Her dress had feathers, and she didn't consider it fluffy, but whatever. It was pretty and she liked it. Since she and Ruby weren't exactly sniping at each other, Jules didn't really have an excuse not to pour her a shot, so she set her cup down and reached for a clean, empty one, just in case Ruby had something already in her own cup. She poured a little bit into the cup and pushed it across the island towards Ruby. "I didn't see you at homecoming," Jules said. She definitely would have if that was something Ruby would have worn. "You didn't go?"
Ruby smiled when Jules poured her a shot, relaxing a little bit. It was so much easier to get along with people after a few drinks. Well, most people. Happy drunks were her favorite. She stayed clear of the ones who got mean. “Naw, didn’t have a date and didn’t feel like prancing around all night trying to find someone to dance with,” Ruby admitted. It was a lot of work and would’ve just made her even more aware of being alone. Not that she minded, but being single at a date event kind of sucked. “I couldn't miss your party though.” They were always the best, though Ruby didn’t say so.
Jules was already on her... whatever numbered drink so it was definitely easier to talk to Ruby when she wasn't sober. Jules didn't think she was a happy drunk, but she wasn't really a mean drunk either. She tended to be kind of chill, and then really horny, though Ruby didn't have to worry about witnessing that. "Well... I'm glad you came," Jules said after a minute, since she wasn't sure else to say. "Though, you know... school dances are just kind of... you can just dance alone and no one cares." She waved her cup around. "I mean, I'm sure plenty of guys would have danced with you." Ruby was hot, even if Jules wouldn't say so out loud. But she was, and she probably could have any guy she wanted if... she wanted. Well, almost any guy. "Did you come here with anyone?"
“Really?” Ruby asked, raising a brow. She was pretty sure Jules didn’t give a shit if she came, so it seemed like an odd thing to say. In fact, she wouldn’t be at all surprised if Jules was worried about being seen with her. “I could, but most people go with dates and I just didn’t make a decision till the last minute,” she shrugged. “I figure Prom’s the one that I can’t miss, and there’s plenty of people to dance with here. It’s a little more fun once everyone’s had their drink on anyways.” As soon as she finished her drink, she planned on finding one of those guys. There were always guys willing to dance, and she cared a little less about them being handsy when she was tipsy. “Nope. Here all by my lonesome. I thought about asking J, but didn’t get my shit together on time.”
Jules really didn't give a shit if Ruby came to her parties, though she supposed maybe it was a good sign that she did? It wasn't like they were close friends anymore, but maybe Ruby didn't totally hate her either. Plus, she was just drunk enough to not care about anything at the moment, and again, the night was going really well, so she had no reason to turn on Bitch Mode. She arched a brow and seemed to agree that people were definitely more fun after they'd been drinking. Homecoming was fun, but her party seemed a lot looser. Probably the alcohol and lack of adult supervision. She sipped more of her drink as her brows drew together curiously. "Which Jay? Jay Morris?" She couldn't remember any other Jay's in their class, but Jay played on the football team and she didn't think he and Ruby were friends or anything.
“No, sorry, J is for Jasper. Jasper Lucas? Drives a ‘79 Malibu?” Ruby said before she realized that cars were totally not Jules’ thing. “A friend of mine. I’ve known him forever. His uncle ’s helped me on my bike from time to time when I don’t want to go to my dad.” Because her father was knowledgeable, but he was still her father and Aaron was kind of hot. Way too old for her, and more like a big brother than anything else, but she’d harbored a crush on him in the past. Both Aaron and Jasper had that bad boy thing going for them that tended to draw Ruby in. “He doesn’t really run in your circle.”
