"Good," Tris replied with a slight smile. "On all counts," he added as he tracked the path of the bottle as it arced to the trash can. "Enjoying the year so far?" He asked, clearly amused by the question. They'd had all of what, three days of school before a long weekend? Still, it was better to have the shorter week, to wean them off the summer freedom slowly.
Though Tris had found that, most of the time, by the time school started the kids were bored with summer anyway. Not all of them; plenty of them could self-entertain just fine, or they'd picked up jobs, or whatnot, but enough of them were glad to be back - at least for the first couple of weeks.
Then they were bored with school, fickle beasts. Well, he tried to keep his class interesting, engaging, interactive as often as possible, and he wondered how long before a continued lack of enthusiasm caused him to burn out and not care either.
