Re: Roxy & Spence
The name set off Roxy’s giggles again as she stood up. She glanced around again but didn’t see Caden and his be-titted wife in the immediate vicinity, thankfully. “No ... but only for their sakes, because we would embarrass them too much,” she said as she and Spence headed for the dance floor. That might not actually be true in Shan’s case, since she was a dancer and all, but whatever. Maybe she didn’t know how to do anything without a pole and with all her clothes on. There weren’t many other dancing people out there at the moment, so Roxy felt a bit conspicuous as she stepped in close to Spence and put her arms around him. This whole wedding had been something of a coming out party for them, an unspoken announcement that they were together again, and while that was a bit nerve wracking so soon after the end of her engagement to Caden ... it felt good too. It was so fucking refreshing to be with a man who didn’t need his arm twisted to dance with her and be affectionate. “I’m so happy you came with me,” she told him quietly.
Spence chuckled. He didn't have a lot of rhythm, but it was funny to think about anyway. He was much better at these slow dances and he preferred them too, being able to hold Roxy close. Mila looked stunning but Roxy was a goddess. Caden Lucas was a fucking moron. Spence was grateful for it. "I'm happy you asked," he said, slipping his arms around her tightly. They were living together now and he honestly couldn't give a damn if anyone judged them for it. Caden had gotten married for fuck's sake. Roxy deserved to be happy too. He dipped his face down to talk near her ear. "How long have you gotta stay?"
He might not have meant it to, but his low voice in her ear gave Roxy a pleasant internal shiver and it made her wonder what time it was and how long the reception was actually going to be. As the maid of honor she probably ought to stay until the end, or at least until Mila and Aaron made their exit so she could help cheer and blow bubbles at them and everything. Her body suddenly wanted to skip out on the responsibilities of the bridal party, though. “Hmmm, I should probably stay until Mila and Aaron leave,” she murmured back to Spence, a note of apology in her tone. “Which hopefully won’t be late.” The bride was pregnant and staying sober, and Roxy could see the tiredness in her friend’s eyes already, so that departure might be earlier than it would be otherwise.
Spence needed to have been to more weddings to understand all the bridal party responsibilities, though he supposed he should have, considering he'd nearly been married once. That felt like ages ago, though. Like a different life he had been trying to lead. "It's a nice day," he said, glancing around the room and the guests still in it. "We should see about grabbing a bottle of wine from the bar before we go too... keep the celebration going after." Spence wasn't the partying type, but hey, a wedding was a good excuse to have a good time even if the bride and groom were gone.
“Hell yeah we should,” Roxy agreed with a cheeky grin, liking the sound of that. “I’ll take it as a maid of honor tax.” Having their own little party when they got home and didn’t have to go anywhere else, and Roxy could take her hair down and her heels off and get out of her shapewear ... that sounded much sexier. She didn’t want to rush Mila out of her own wedding reception, but she did hope they decided to retire into wedded bliss early-ish. Roxy didn’t want to say yet that someday in the future they would end up at the center of their own wedding, but she hadn’t been able to resist dreaming about it today. Finally those dreams had a real possibility of coming true, and she was already over the moon about it. “I love you,” she murmured as she gazed dreamily at Spence. He was going to be such a hot groom.
