Re: Sage & Jasper (early in the party)
Sage really tried not to be a burden on anyone, but mutual support was something he could get behind. It didn’t mean it would happen, but the option was there if either of them needed it. Sage had the feeling that they did, even if they were reluctant to take each other up on it. He knew he had friends that would listen, but none of them understood what he’d been through in the other place the way Jasper would. “Sounds good, man,” Sage smiled. “I’ll give you a call sometime.” From across the party, Marsh caught his eye and Sage felt a little flutter in his chest. He might be a train wreck, but Marsh wanted him anyways. “Thanks for the booze,” he said, tipping his cup towards Jasper. “See ya later?”
Jasper didn’t know if Sage would actually reach out or not, but at least he’d made the offer. He could tell Jules and Logan and everybody that he was trying to make connections. If they both struggled to send that first text and Jasper didn’t hear from him for a while ... maybe he would try to man up and be the one to reach out. God knew he couldn’t rightly pretend that he didn’t need the support. Jasper smiled and lifted his own cup in return. “Anytime, and yeah, later. Have a good time.” He shot Sage a knowing smirk and turned to wander off to find Jules and mingle some more.
