Jasper & Jules (& Gavin)
Jasper walked back into the reception hall from the outdoor patio with angry purpose, not paying any attention to whether Elodie followed him or not. He told himself he wasn’t going to make a scene so he wouldn’t mess up Aaron’s wedding, but the instant he saw Jules his heart started pounding and fresh anger flashed through him. She looked pretty and oh so casual, just sitting and chatting with his dad, the picture of blonde perfect innocence. How she could act so calm while she was in the same room as Ruby, Jasper couldn’t understand. He may have done some fucked up stuff himself in the previous months, but he hadn’t slept with anybody’s boyfriend. Especially not anyone Jules was close to.
His cheeks still flushed, Jasper stalked over to the table. He didn’t give a shit that his dad was right there and Jules was mid-sentence -- Jasper stepped up and took hold of her upper arm none too gently, leaning down close to her ear. “Come with me, I need to talk to you,” he said through his teeth.
Jules was having a good time at the wedding. Mila looked gorgeous, and Jasper's uncles were definitely guys who cleaned up nicely. So did Jasper, and Jules couldn't quite fight the itch to touch him whenever she could. It was weird with Logan and Ruby there, but Jules had been distracted by enough not to let it get under her skin. This wasn't her wedding, and she was there as a guest, so she wanted to have fun. Jules was talking to Gavin about her new job at one of the tables when Jasper appeared. She hadn't even seen him coming until he had hold of her arm. He sounded angry, and even if he hadn't, she could tell he was by the grip he had on her skin.
Blinking, Jules looked at Jasper, her heart starting to pound uncomfortably in her chest. There was plenty he could be pissed at her for, but she didn't want to jump to conclusions. "Okay," she said slowly, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment, considering Jasper's dad was sitting right beside her. "Can you let go of my arm first?"
"Jasper," Gavin said sharply, though he didn't raise his voice. He didn't like this approach one bit and it didn't take any kind of deep insight to see his son was furious about something even before he was hissing at Jules and putting his hand on her. Gavin gave him a warning glare, raising his hand in a gesture that said 'stand down'. It was an automatic reaction, one he often used on the dogs if they got too rowdy or tried to leap up on people and while it worked on them, he doubted Jasper would respond to it. "Sit the fuck down and take a breath," he muttered because the last thing he needed was Jasper of all people causing a scene when he'd been doing so well at keeping all the other idiots in check.
