Re: Caden & Shan
Caden glanced at Shan and snickered. She looked like she was having fun, at least. He doubted a family wedding was her cup of tea, but she'd gotten dressed up and come anyway. Would he have done the same if it was her family's wedding? Caden wasn't so sure. "How 'bout Mila and Aaron buy you a drink? It's all goin' on their tab." Caden said, slipping his arm around her waist as they approached the bar. Caden set his empty glass on the bar top and ordered another whiskey before motioning to Shan with his free hand. "And whatever she wants." He was sure one of them would be sober enough to drive home and if not, well, they'd get a ride eventually. Gavin was a sucker lately, so he'd be the likeliest DD.
Shan would’ve rather had her fingernails torn off one by one than attend a wedding on her side of the family, most of them could die in a fire for all she gave a shit. If it had been one of her friends though? Different story. But she didn’t have any real friends here yet, and she’d been a little disappointed to see that none of the cooler people she’d met here had been invited to this wedding. Shan could entertain herself, though. She put an order in with the bartender for another glass of red. Ordinarily she would’ve been drinking harder stuff at an event like this, but there were weird female politics in the air, and if Caden’s ex came around looking for a sparring match, or her new sister in law decided to be a bitchy bride, Shan wanted to be on her game. Shan turned and leaned against the bar while they waited on their drinks, her gaze scanning the room again before coming back to Caden. “Are you having fun?” she asked him. “I keep seeing you smiling, it’s weird.” She grinned faintly at him.
Caden wrinkled up his nose at the thought of anyone catching him smiling. But at the same time, fuck it. He knew he was an asshole and what did he ever have to smile about? But today felt weirdly different, so… whatever. Why not smile and let people think married life agreed with him or some shit. “Define fun,” he said after a moment, leaning on the bar with her and turning his body to face her. “Little brother got married. We figured he’d be forever single, fucking every willing woman in town until he keeled over dead. So, we got a reason to celebrate, I guess.” Caden cocked a brow as he studied her. “Plus, your tits look fucking amazing in that dress, and right now they’re mine so… guess I got plenty to smile about.”
It was weirdly sweet of him to attribute any happiness to her, even if it was just her boobs, and Shan beamed brighter. "A little weird to celebrate the death of your brother's sex life, but okay. Slut life isn't for everyone. And my tits look great in everything,” she pointed out, leaning in close to brush them against his chest while she smiled close to his face. Shan was definitely in favor of Caden having fun and smiling, as long as it wasn't at other women. But she wanted him tipsy and in a good mood, because she wanted to have fun. Shan's smile turned a bit more coy. "Bet there's a bunch of empty rooms in this place ... if you really want to do some celebrating.”
Caden snorted in amusement. The death of Aaron's sex life. Well, he was married now, to a woman who was pregnant and probably wouldn't be interested in sex for a while, so Caden was guessing his sex life was going to take a hit for sure. Hopefully the marriage could survive it. But Caden was less interested in Aaron's sex life and more interested in his own, especially with the way Shan was looking at him. "Yeah, maybe we should explore a bit... see what we can find." Fucking Shan at Aaron's wedding seemed like the perfect way to celebrate. Plus, he knew this place was owned by the D'Onofrios, so that made the thought even more appealing. He straightened as their drinks were handed to them and Caden slipped some cash into the tip jar before reaching out to take Shan's hand, leading her down the hall and away from the reception room. "You think they'd be stupid enough to leave some rooms unlocked?"
