Elodie & Jasper
"I told you what he said, he said it was Jules," Elodie said with mild exasperation, rocking back on her heels again. "He'd been drinking at the bonfire, and we got high together and then I gave him one of my pills so he could sleep, 'cause of the Dark Man shit, and he was totally out of it when I asked him who he'd cheated on Ruby with and he just said Jules." Shrugging softly, Elodie studied Jasper. "I mean, I told you I could find out. And I did." She also told Jasper that she could probably fuck up the girl Clint had cheated with too and she supposed, in a way, she was by telling Jasper. Two birds with one stone and stuff. "I know it sucks," she added after a moment.
It didn’t come as any surprise to Jasper that Elodie had drugged Clint to get the truth out of him. Or at least just for shits and giggles, maybe the truth was just a bonus. A shitty, shitty bonus. Jasper wished for a moment that she hadn’t told him either. He looked over his shoulder like Jules might be standing right there, but she was out of sight of where he’d exited the building. He knew he had no room to be angry, considering the whole Logan thing and their separation ... but he still was. They hadn’t technically been together so she hadn’t cheated on him, but fucking Clint Nolan? Why did Jules keep surrounding herself with guys that he completely loathed? Had she fucked Ethan too? It made Jasper feel queasy to think about and he was torn between storming back inside to grab her and make her explain herself, and ditching out on this whole thing completely. How could he go back in and play nice now? His jaw worked as he ground his teeth, his nostrils flared. Maybe he should go in there and drag Logan away from whoever he was flirting with and kiss him right in front of her and everybody, just to make her feel as gut-punched as he did right then. “Fuck,” he hissed, throwing the joint down to walk away a few paces, both hands lifting to scrub over his face and back through his short hair.
Elodie knew it was fucked up that she kind of hoped there would be a public fight. That would just make the wedding all the more fun! But she knew Jasper well enough to know he probably wouldn't do that in front of all of those people, especially since he liked his uncle. Still, he looked super pissed which was entertaining and scary and hot all at the same time. But she also felt weirdly guilty, like it was her fault he was pissed even though it wasn't. She wasn't the one who'd fucked Clint Nolan. At least not yet, because she still wanted to, especially now. Elodie picked up the joint Jasper had thrown and quickly brought it back to her lips to try and get whatever was left from it. "What're you gonna do?" she asked after a moment.
So many possibilities flashed through Jasper's head -- he could bail, take Elodie somewhere else, maybe fuck her for revenge, he could do the same with Logan, hell, why not both of them? Jasper could go back in and make a scene, he could go tell Ruby and let her make the scene ... None of those felt like good options, but he didn't know that any good options existed here. What he couldn't do was just go back to the party pretending he didn't know anything. Jasper turned back to look at Elodie, his expression still in a scowl. "I'm gonna talk to her,” he grumbled. He started for the door back inside, then stopped short and looked at her again, pointing one finger at her. "Don't say shit to Ruby, okay?” he said, though it wasn't really a question. "This is my uncle's wedding, don't fuck it up.” If she told Ruby when they were in the same room, it would go south fast, and it would be loud at best, he felt sure.
