Re: Ruby and Logan
“Would they possess the person they’re trying to seduce? Or possess someone else and then find a target?” Ruby said, not truly expecting an answer. She believed a demon could possess someone, but did that apply in this situation? She had no idea. This didn’t seem like something she could easily look up online either, not without running into a shit-ton of mythology. Ruby snickered at the image of Logan leaving his window in hopes of a sex demon sneaking in. “Depends on how desperate you are. You run the risk of just about anyone sneaking in around here,” she smirked. “On the plus side, they’d probably be gone come morning. Might be worth the risk.”
Logan made a face, not wanting to be possessed by anything or anyone. That sounded creepy as hell. "I don't think I'm desperate enough for demon sex," he finally admitted. "I don't have a hard time finding people who want to have fun. Thankfully no one has been clingy about it. And knowing my luck, any sex demon who came into my room would probably fall in love with me and never leave." He smirked and eyed Ruby. "You ready to go soon? I'm out of beer and I think the party is winding down."
“That’s the last thing you need—a lovesick demon,” Ruby grinned. She hadn’t been as lucky as it sounded like Logan was—probably due to the recent, messy breakup—but demon sex still sounded a step too far. She kept imagining something with red eyes, jet black skin, and a tail. She didn’t even want to think about the tail. “Yeah, we should probably head out,” she said, pulling herself to her feet. The world spun a bit, the result of one too many drinks, but she thought she could manage well enough to get to Logan’s car.
Logan followed, taking a few steps to toss his cup into the nearest trash can. "We've gotta stop talking about demons, or we're gonna end up summoning one somehow." Wouldn't that just be their luck. He rummaged around in his pocket for his keys, briefly thinking about pulling out his phone to text Jasper, but decided against it. He was off somewhere with Jules tonight and didn't need Logan dumb-buzz-texting his ass. "Fingers crossed for a demon-less drive home, yeah? You're going straight home? You don't need me dropping you off anywhere else?"
“Speak of the devil and he shall appear?” Ruby grinned, but let it drop. If you could summon a ghost by saying their name three times in a mirror, it was perfectly reasonable that talking about a demon might actually bring one to them. “Fingers crossed,” she said, holding hers up as evidence, then dropped them as she raised a brow. “Where else would you drop me off?” Home was really the only option that she could think of. She’d told her dad she was spending the night with Amelia, just in case she found someone cute to hook up with, but Logan didn’t know that. And if she’d had someone to crawl into bed with, Ruby assumed he would be the one carting her ass to his house, not Logan.
"I don't know," Logan said with a shrug. "Girls are mysteries. Who knows where you might wanna go. But home is as good an option as any." He unlocked his car as they got closer to it. For a second, Logan considered inviting her over to his place, but the gnawing feeling regarding Jasper kept the urge at bay. They weren't a "thing" anymore, but he still didn't think Jasper would like Logan hooking up with Ruby. Which was a shame, because she was hot as fuck. "Guess I should be used to Point Pleasant night life being non-existent."
“Mysteries. You make us sound like mythological creatures or something,” Ruby snickered as she followed him to his car. People could be complicated, but most of the time they were simple. They all had wants and needs. The difference between them was how they prioritized them. “I don’t know any different. Not really. I’ve been on vacations, but… I guess I keep hoping it’ll get better when I can legally visit one of the two bars in town, but probably not. It’ll have to be weekend trips to Bangor if I really want a nightlife.” She stopped at his car, looking over the hood at him. “Do you miss it?”
