Re: Ruby and Logan
Logan grinned and shrugged, because duh, she was hot. There were a lot of hot people in Point Pleasant, thank god. It was like someone in the universe knew how fucked they were, so they decided to make everyone in this place fuckable to make up for how horrible this place could be. "Living here is horror movie stupid," he pointed out before chuckling and taking another swig of his beer. "As for the alcohol, I dunno who brings it, but I appreciate their sacrifice. I sure as shit couldn't afford all of this, and if I could, I doubt I'd be sharing it with a bunch of people. I guess we should be more curious about it. Wouldn't put it past anyone who put some shit in it that makes us nuts." He eyed the beer in his hand.
“It wouldn’t be the first time,” Ruby said, eyeing his drink skeptically. “I’m pretty sure someone put something in the drinks at Jules’s graduation party.” The party stood out in her head, especially now that she and Clint were broken up. Ruby tried not to concern herself with what other people thought of her, but having sex in the pool, out where everyone could see her, still shocked her looking back on it. There had been people everywhere, including in the pool with them. She knew she could be wild after a few drinks, but this had been something else entirely. “Were you there for that? It was out of control. I don’t even know what could do something like that.”
Logan took another swig of his beer anyway. If there had been something in it, he would have probably felt weird by now. The mention of Jules's party brought another grin to Logan's face and he quickly licked some lingering beer from his lip before it could drop off. "Yeah, I was at Jules's party. That shit was crazy. Fun, though. I guess someone could've done some shit to the alcohol, but I knew a few people who weren't drinking and they were acting out too. Maybe it was just end of year, graduation high or something. You have to admit it was a fun time, though." He couldn't remember if he'd seen Ruby there or not, there had been so many people.
“Yeah, it was a good time. I’d probably do it again, given the chance,” Ruby grinned, taking another sip of her drink. She refused to regret her time spent with Clint. Just because it hurt now didn’t mean she didn’t love every second of it when they were together. Now she just had to put him behind her and find a better distraction. “Maybe we all just need to let go occasionally.” Sometimes she seemed to need it more often than others, but she knew she wasn’t alone in that. It was an opportunity to escape and there was no reason not to have a little fun, so long as no one got hurt.
Knowing how many parties were thrown out of boredom in this town, Logan had a feeling Ruby would likely have another chance to go crazy in the future. He couldn't remember if she was going off to college or not, but even if she was, it seemed like most people came back eventually. And hell, college itself was full of crazy fun too, wasn't it? For some people, anyway. "I like to let go a lot more than occasionally," he said with a grin. "When I can, anyway. What else is there to do around here? Besides dodge trauma, I mean."
“You successfully dodge it? Fuck, it usually knocks me flat,” Ruby said with a snort of amusement because that was really all she could do about it. The alternative was letting it cripple her, but Ruby was far too stubborn to let that happen. She had her scars and she’d wear them proudly, even if she couldn’t talk about them. “But yeah, it’s all a little easier to deal with after a few drinks. Keeps the trauma and the boredom at bay. Mostly. You know, I was partying with some friends the other day and one of them had hangover-free booze.”
